I moved into an apartment two years ago. At the time, I noticed the toilet was quite loud when it was refilling but then I thought maybe I was just cuckoo. Soon, the yellow portion of the flush valve fell off - I think it had been cracked before I came on the scene. All of that is to say, when I replaced the valve and attached the fill hose to it, not only does the tank not leak, the toilet is nearly silent When it refills! Double bonus. Love it.

Exactly what I needed

This was a pretty easy install.  The Kohler systems use interchangeable parts so even  though my toilet model was obsolete, parts were easy to secure directly from Kohler.

Easy Install

I had a similar problem as others with the yellow piece that joins the filler tube to the canister assembly: It would pop off with nearly every flush.

I don't think it was cracked, but just seemed that it wouldn't lock in place snugly. Water pressure was enough to make it launch from it's mount.

After several frustrated attempts to fix it, I finally resorted to Gorilla Glue which secured it in place.

Now I cannot replace the seal on the bottom of the movable canister, which would be routine maintenance if I hadn't “fixed” things.

I wouldn't say no if Kohler offered to send me a replacement canister valve assembly for my Cimarron Comfort Height toilet.
