Connectivity

I have two of these in my house, replaced a couple of Yale smart locks that were going through a set of batteries every 6 weeks.  I was able to add them to my Ring alarm very easily, the 620 is on Rings list of supported devices, very happy with both performance and looks of these locks.  I have no idea why this lock has such a low rating here when the two 620's in my house have been just fine and so much better than what I had with the older version of Z-wave.

Great lock at an affordable price point. I am glad they came out with this lock as a replacement for the 888 Smart Code. I am getting about 6 month more with this model than I was with the 888.

Great Lock. Much Improved Battery Life

I'm glad I ignored the comments here and bought the Kwikset 620 Z-wave to use with my Ring Alarm System. Once I installed the 620 and got the green light after it finished the handing cycle, I was able to set up the 620 lock using the Ring app by entering the alarm tab and going to "set up a device/security/locks/add manually/Z-wave" and then scanning the 620 QR code located behind the battery pack cover. The Ring system immediately recognized the 620 lock and added it to the alarm system with full functionality. 

I don't understand why this affordable 620 Z-wave lock is not listed in the Ring compatibility list. Mine works as if it were made for the Ring Alarm System.

Works Flawlessly with my Ring Alarm System!

Bought new this year and have been using for a couple of months. My kids like using the keypad for their own independence. I like knowing I and they can get in without a key if misplaced, etc. I also easily programmed codes for nearby family for access, if needed. I know about z-wave but do not want to pay for any subscriptions for remote use. I am still trying to figure out if it works with alexa. The website isn't clear.

I put this on my Christmas wish-list and Santa obliged me with two of them. I installed the first one on my back door. Everything went well and I was up and running in about 20 minutes, But, as I fiddled around with it I was somewhat disappointed to learn that the overall functionality is average. I did not read too many of the reviews, although it was recommended in its category. It works with my smart home hub, which is a lesser known company but fits well with my idea of a smart home system. But I was disappointed to learn that I could only lock/unlock the deadbolt lock. I could not find out which code was used to manually open the door nor could I set up any lock codes through the hub. The reality is that I didn't do enough research. It's a Kwikset, so I feel secure, I just wish it had a bit more "ease of use."

Does the job without any bells & whistles

Got my package just before Christmas and finally installed it.  Installation was straightforward and instructions clear.  Keypad works, but I can't get the lock to pair with my SmartThings hub.  I have 2 other Kwikset locks that are paired with the hub, front and back door, this lock is to the garage, kind of in between.  Looking for some ideas!

So this is the 2nd replacement I have recieved as my original lock is no longer an option. I have followed all of the installation instructions and called support and we still have beeping. Just random consecutive beeping. The lock works kinda. Followed all the troubleshooting instructions and now I have the same beeping and it won't communicate with my alarm panel. I have reset it twice. So if you want a smart lock that beeps randomly with 4-5 consecutive beeps constantly throughout the day and doesn't want it to communicate with an alarm panel, this is the lock for you.

I've had my Kwikset Home Connect 620 Smart Lock Deadbolt with Z-Wave Technology for 3 years. One was easy to connect, but I have never been able to connect the other one to my smart things hub.  I just tried the other day to see if maybe things had changed.  Nope.

Failed to connect to hub

Works well as stand alone unit. Connection with Ring is a joke. No status update constant drop connection. And you can only lock and unlock. No other features are accessible through Ring.

I have had 4 of these locks, the first one lasted 2 years, the second and the third a year each and the last one I just got lasted 3 days. It keeps clicking and not working properly. There is always something wrong with them. It's like they are made to not last, to just be a piece of garbage or a paperweight. Lucky for me they all have broken before the 1 year warranty expired. I have told them they are terrible and to send me a different style but nope, I got to keep putting up with the trash. It's extremely frustrating.
