This is my go-to hair dye brand and color! You get such a rich long-lasting color, and SO much cheaper than going to the salon! I get compliments on the shade. Easy to use. I do recommend if you have long/thick hair to get 2 boxes. Still much cheaper than the salon though. I've used for years now, and this has never turned me brassy, or made my hair have that hair dye smell for days like a lot of other brands will!

The gal that normally does my hair moved to Hawaii in June so I had ALOT of grey  and it covered and blended perfect.  
Don't let it scare you when it turns almost black in color when you are waiting for it to take.  Let it set for the entire time recommended.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and have been using this for past 20  years.   I'm always satisfied with color-right on and condition of my baby fine thin hair after coloring.  I've met with colorists from Paris (yrs ago) but in my experience-good job for over the counter.

This is my first time purchasing this line.  This will be my go to from now on. The color was a great fit (at first I wasn't too sure).  The smell of the shampoo and conditioner was amazing! I wish they would sell it separately.  I did find the L'Oréal shampoo and conditioner that is close to it.

The color has lasted a month so far.  No complaints here.

Great Color

Used the L'Oréal Preference hair color previously, because I was trying to cover blonde grow-out as well as matching my natural Level 5 hair color, and afraid of the opacity of the Excellence line. The initial color was amazing because it was luminous and dimensional, almost as though I had subtle highlights. But, the color never did work for my grays and it faded very quickly. After waiting about 8 weeks, I used this, the Excellence hair color line. It came out much truer to the color depicted on the packaging, and it definitely provided better gray coverage.  It is an opaque and one-dimensional color, however it is also rich, shiny, and gives my hair a wonderful texture.  The Excellence is also lasting much longer than the Preference color. Really depends on what your goal is. I prefer this one, L'Oréal Excellence for a true, long-lasting color.

Excellence for rich, true color

I have used several loreal excellence creme colors. This is a nice color and has remained a nice color even after fading a bit like colors do after a few weeks of washing. The color has remained nice, and it colored my hair evenly, no patchiness of uneven color. Received compliments on it.

Would buy again

I've used L'Oreal products for many years on my hair . The color is true to what it describes . I use the ash tones because my hair tends to grab the red . With this product it last longer than most before you need a touch up . It also comes with a traditional type bottle to apply and one that is a comb type applicator . I use the comb type one because it makes it so much easier to apply without all the mess and splatters.

I used this on my mother's hair and it turned out very well, she has all gray hair and it covered it all with the exception of a few strains at her temples which makes for a nice natural look. The cool ultra didn't leave any brassiness!

No brassiness

I was very disappointed in the L'Ioreal Paris. The color came out too dark (more like a light to medium brown. And for some reason my hair did not feel silky and shinny like the regular L'Oreal hair coloring.  This "Paris" Canada brand formula  is not good in my opinion. 
I usually use L'Oreal (not Paris)  and have much better results.

I have used the same brand and product without the additional product via shampoo and conditioner never had issues But this Product Use Was Not Good I Have A Blister Rash On the back of my Neck every other Area Where I Have used this Product is still tender But Great Color Products Any Other Time Of Purchase
