I've used a specific brand for decades, but it's a bit pricey and I'm having to pinch pennies, so I decided to take a chance, and I was pleasantly surprised!
This laundry detergent is much more economical than my usual brand (scratch that... previous brand!), has a nice scent that's not overwhelming and doesn't even flinch at my jeans after a day of gardening (dirt/mud/sweat/grime), and does a great job of getting my pup's blankets clean (and anyone who's had a puppy knows all too well all the things that come along with that! LOL). It even gets my white socks white again after said gardening, which is a huuuge plus! I honestly do not see any difference in the ability for this detergent to clean my clothes than the more pricey stuff I used to buy. At $14.87, this isn't exactly bottom shelf (baby steps!), but I still saved money over my usual brand and every penny counts!
Now that I've escaped that "only use the stuff mom used" trap, I'll be trying out some others, but I'm very happy with this one and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again!

Purex does a good job of cleaning our clothes, and the large quantity is over twice as much as the smaller bottle for like 4 dollars more. We usually use about 2 of the smaller Bottles a month so this larger quantity is great. we just pour it off into one of the smaller jugs we have left and it lasts a month for a bit less. Got to save where you can.

Twice the Amount for 1  1/2 times the price

No idea why it's asking me to rate the word dirt and the word residue without further context, thus the middle of the road comments. This is a decent product at a sufficient size to hold down the washing machine when it want to spin away. Not very good on cereal, but nothing beats Ajax... Good product without extra additives that usually irritate my own sensitive skin (allergies to many scents and softeners; might just be serendipitous for me, but hey, it's my review).

Good for making your entire house deadly slippery

u know how u r found that persil is d extra %26 efficient working detergent but d cost is abrasive to ur budget?.... well helloooo thank u purex.... love this giant efficient laundry soap that attacks that smell ....it washes even the ones in d bottom of ur washing machine...u know how frustrated u r to wash a batch , then when u pull them out , the ones in d bottom seems like never been touched by a soap?.... PUREX saves the day. this size can actually last me a month. thats how good this stuff is.

in a budget but lavish

ive used purex mountain breeze for about 13 years, and i would never use any other. they dont use dangerous Quats in this version so im not rushed to the er by my detergent. im also extremely sensitive to strong scents. i tried using the oxy version of this for 2 months %26 honestly it cleaned very well BUT i couldnt handle how perfume rich it was compared to this mountain breeze. it smelled good but caused me headaches %26 asthma. Mountain Breeze is my go to %26 i feel safe with this detergent. i also prefer the smell to others who use too much perfume. Mountain Breeze doesnt trigger my migraines or nausea. thank you.

Its budget friendly and smells pleasant and not to strong (will hardly smell it after clothes are put in the dryer). Pretty decent with light stains and odors.its better at stain removal then other budget friendly detergents (xtra and arm and hammer). Its not thin like xtra so i can use it like more concentrated detergents

Decent

Pretty great product I don't know why but my coupon didn't work online for it so I have to figure that out and I do like it. It smells good. It was fresh and cleaned everything I used laundry so from a few different things and it is great good product.

Nice

I've been using Purex for a while now, and I'm really impressed! The scent is fantastic — my clothes come out smelling fresh and clean without being too strong. One thing I really appreciate is that it doesn't leave any residue on my clothes, which can be an issue with some other brands.

While the detergent is effective, I like to use a little extra than the suggested amount, but it's still not the full cap. Even with that adjustment, it works well without compromising on quality. Most importantly, it completely eliminates tough odors, so my laundry never has a lingering "stank."

Overall, I highly recommend Purex if you want a detergent that gets the job done, smells great, and leaves your clothes feeling fresh!

Great Scent, No Residue

I absolutely love this brand. I don't buy anything else unless i have to but one time i got thinking everything is fine. Went home, put in a load of laundry and when i tried to put the laundry soap, nothing came out but water down soap and it came straight off the shelve. The workers need to pay attention if something gets returned like that

watch what you buy

I am very angry that Purex completely changed the scent of the original Mountain Breeze detergent.  They call it FRESH Mountain Breeze now, I opened the cap to smell it before I used it, AWFUL scent.  It smells nothing like the original Mountain Breeze scent.  I had to return it to the store and I'm disabled with a herniated disc. I had to buy Purex Free and Clear now because all of their scented detergents do not smell good, way too pungent😷
