My granddaughter who is 17  has been asking for this Lego set for three years we finally broke down and bought it for her. 18 hours and three days later she finished it and has it proudly displayed in her bedroom. These adult Lego sets are amazing and frankly I know what I was doing at 17 and it wasn't building Legos!!

Love love love

Sharing the joy of my granddaughter's favorite movie and a fun Lego set!  So many little details!  Too cute and fun to build with step by step instructions that even a Mimi can follow!

Nightmare Before Christmas

This set was a lot of fun to build. The attention to detail was great - featured so many fun things from the movie. Looking forward to rebuilding this each Halloween season while watching the movie.

Attention to Detail Spot On

Really liked the minifigs, colors and design concept, but the Town Hall in particular is almost impossible to move without the structure breaking. The baseplate to this structure needs more reinforcement - two small red disks along one seam line, for instance, is inadequate and does not support the build. I've assembled many Lego kits and always appreciated the thought that has gone into the design. This one deserved better testing.

Colorful but unstable

Set feels lifeless. Most sets from featured films recreate small magical moments in the build. I didn't see many of these. The construction is also fragile. The trees fall often, the roofs don't feel leveled, and curved hill's magic was stolen by the terrible build design. I've built better sets.

Let Down.

Well the anticipation greatly out weighed the end result. My daughter who is now 19 has been a fan of the movie since she was 2 and was highly anticipating the set the moment that it was announced I personally believed that the designers of this set should've taken a step back and actually looked at Jack's House because they created what is a chimney on Jack's house that's supposed to be a tower where he actually spends most of his times pondering Christmas. The green wreathes slung through the set were a nuisance creating a feel of repetitive building without one being a man eating monster. This Set overall is a moderate letdown including the lack of masks for the three trick-or-treaters of Halloween Town Lock, Shock, and Barrel. This set like the pirates of barracuda Bay had a lot more potential if the buildings had been done separately. Jack's house done with accurate architectural design.
Town Hall including The Mayor‘s car. Still giving credit to the Fan design.  Hopefully they'll be better thought process with future sets that are so highly anticipated.  Overall boring build very repetitive  Zero is literally the savior of this set! Giving correct limbs to Jack was also a bonus. My only other critique how hard would it have been to put Oogie Boogie's reflection on the moon so that you could spin the moon and either have it just a full moon or the full moon with Oogie Boogie would've added another character by just printing a picture just throwing that out there.

Unhappy holiday

I'm an avid lego fan and have many large sets and I was so excited for this build. However, I was disappointed with this set especially with the high price tag. It's quite flimsy with many pieces just falling off when trying to move the buildings around. The buildings also don't fit very nicely together and there really isn't any room for the characters. Overall, I wish the set had a better design or had a lower price tag for the quality.

We purchased a Lego kit as we do every Christmas to assemble on Christmas Eve. From the reviews of the train that is the new holiday edition for Lego this year we decided to go a different direction. We purchased the nightmare before Christmas so that we could assemble something on a different realm of our holiday village. Unfortunately, the Legos don't quite snap, having a lot of trouble keeping portions together! Any other normal Lego kit clicks and be a struggle to disassemble. This one is very easily able to fall apart while handling. I can't imagine this being in our holiday decor box and easy to re assemble every single year for the holidays. It almost feels as if the plastic is softer and doesn't snap into place.

Something doesn't click

So I love Nightmare Before Christmas and I love Lego. This should have been a dream build, but I just found the whole build experience so disappointing. It feels flimsy and a lot of the structures seem to hold on with just one or two connections. I accept that it looks good, but when I tried to move sections, it literally falls apart. Other issues have been a missing part, an incorrectly coloured part in a pack and some pieces not fitting/connecting properly - such as the mayors hat.

In terms of value I'm also disappointed. Big sections of the build are completely hidden unless you pull the build apart. Feels like they've added extra stuff just to try and justify the cost. Would honestly have preferred emptier buildings (that were sturdier) with more external detail.

Overall, a real disappointment unfortunately. I had such high hopes for this set.
