Instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So glad to see more Toad Lego options in the toy aisle. My little one loved the set. She was able to complete most of the assembly on her own. She required a little supervision with some of the assembly. The instructions are easy to follow and the app feature is loads of fun.

My son absolutely loves this set.  He has it set up on our coffee table right now connected to other sets and plays with it daily.  The interactiveness of these LEGO Super Mario sets is wonderful and makes it last for many many hours of fun.

Christmas gift

We bought this set for our son not realizing mario doesn't come with it or that you really have to have that piece to get the pieces to work. Once he realized this he decided he was purchasing the required “starter set” with his bday money. The sets are so cute but I hate that lego added reliance on a device to get the instructions. We would be fine with the interactive piece and having the option to see videos of how the assembled pieces work but we like paper instructions and that's especially what I want for my son. Plus it adds a layer of unfair exclusivity to the toys. I also don't like that the app can't be used with children's accounts because location services are required. Lego should be much clearer about all these things. Aside from these things, the sets are really fun to play with and my son absolutely loves them. Really takes playing with legos up a notch.

Fun but...I want paper instructions!

These are such cute mario legos fun to build and mario makes the legos come alive. The only bad thing is to get the instructions to build it you have to download it to your phone otherwise you have no direction's.

It comes with 464 pieces. It connects to an app the digital Mario is great fun makes mario sounds. The set is fairy easy to build and looks amzing when it built. you can jump on blocks to earn digital points some of the parts function well like can slide the mario across. would defo recommend i enjoyed playing this.

I was attracted to this set by the colours of the toadstool houses, yes I'm that easily led. It also helps that one of the many nicknames the boy has is Toad which is based on the Mario games.

I was adamant I was building this kit because it just looked really fun and it was great to build. I was worried that the sheer size of it would mean it wouldn't fit on the table we had allocated for building the course. I am a complete and utter idiot, this set really does break down in to so many pieces so you can slot the houses absolutely anywhere on your course and it doesn't have to be in one big square. Does look great built in one square though.

The inclusion of the Toad and Toadette characters is a nice bonus and I grabbed this one so quick I hadn't seen Toadette on the box so it was a nice bonus for this builder.

The big downside for me was that you have no build instructions in the kit it all has to be downloaded through the app. Make sure your device has full battery before you start, especially if you are building multiple sets in the series at the same time or else you can get in the situation I was in where 2 bags from the end my battery died.

Cute addition to Mario Lego set

Bought for my grandson for Christmas 2020, it was on his list so I am sure it will be one he loves!

Bought this for our son, not realizing that it requires an Internet connected device to be able to access the instructions. We went to the library (where I'm writing this review) to see if we could access the instructions online and print them out, but in order to get access to the instructions you need to be able to install an “app”. This is a very elitist toy that is excluding the 20 million  Americans who don't have an internet connected device. We unfortunately have to return it because there is no way that we've been able to find that we can actually use this set without buying a cell phone or tablet and subscribing to a monthly fee that we could never afford.
