I've never seen anything, ever, with such great detail and similarity to the actual thing! The designers clearly paid very close attention to the details of the viper probe droid in the movie! they deserve so much credit... It is an amazing center piece for any table! The arms and head are fully functional. A small downside is that the arms are flimsy... but it isn't for playing with... its more of a display thing... But it looks AMAZNG! if you are considering buying this... DO IT

Perfectly Detailed And Very Awesome!

This set is great! The build was fun and challenging and felt different from other builds. It's such a cool display piece too. I'm a big fan of this movie and getting the probe droid in LEGO form was a no-brainer decision.
I liked that each arm had a different style to them. There was very little repetition tin building this. The head was really interesting to build. It's not symmetrical so it was fun to see where each step took you.
I would love to see a larger scale version of this in the future.

Imperial Probe Droid!!!

This set has to be the coolest under 1000 piece set I've built in years. It is extremely detailed. The tentacles look amazing as well as the rotation head. Another good thing is that it had only one bag per numbered section. I can't really think of a flaw in this set. It's perfect for any Star Wars fan, especially if you have the UCS AT-ST.

My collection of Lego sets in general began relatively early (roughly 5 months since the writing of this review. After building sets from the Architecture collection followed by the Ideas sets, I turned my attention to the Star Wars sets. They are relatively straightforward but fun considering excellent Star Wars toys/memorabilia. Not since the Dinosaur Fossils (21320) have I built a set as intricate but fun. I found myself perplexed by certain connections but satisfied when finding the proper way to make those connections. 

My budget is relatively limited too, so I usually seek out the sets that provide lots of build time and make for great display pieces that are entertaining to return to. 

The Imperial Probe Droid is certainly one of those sets. A worthwhile purchase for the burgeoning collector and certainly for any fan of Star Wars. 

The build was certainly challenging but so worth the final result. The organization of it was excellent. Attention to detail heavily required. There are several leftover 6273229 parts, but I imagine they are for adding extra little flourishes throughout the droid. 

The Imperial Probe Droid looks and builds fantastic and was certainly worth its price. A must-have set for fans and collectors of Star Wars and Lego alike.

Attention to Detail Required, Incredible Payoff!

The viper droid is menacing and mysterious. Lego have done it again capturing a icon star wars droid and giving it the lego treatment. The probe droid is certainly one the most unique droids star wars. The build is oozing with little details from its five manipulator arms extending from a central pod as well as sensors and receivers and sensors covered the domed head which is able to move too. 

The complete complexity and detail is captured hear faithfully. Included also is small stand comprised mostly of white and few grey pieces that is meant to mimic the surface of Hoth this has to be one of lego star wars most epic complete builds. 

Lego star wars designers have excelled again.
A instant classic.

It has extra pieces in dark grey for prop purposes.... I think? 

I enjoyed this build, though at first the many extra pieces confused me. If you look at the promo pictures they are in a dish, so I guess it's meant to be the droid's spares and repairs parts when doing the Empire's bidding....

It's a cute addition to the other droids in my collection. And I had fun building it.

The only downside is that the arms are a bit flimsy when being repositioned but it's not meant to be a toy so it makes sense.

It's supposed to have those extra peices

As should be obvious from the psuedo-UCS display, this is very much a display set.

The legs of the probe droid are highly fragile, and wouldn't stand up to being used as a playset. Definitely a set more for dads than the kids.

I put it in the same category as the musem dinosaur fossils set 21320, it's a fantastic display set at a price point more affordable to those who can't stretch to UCS sets. I'd love to see Lego make more of this sort of set. 

The level of detail and accuracy is very impressive for the relatively low brick count. Kudos to the designer.

The build wasn't too challenging, taking me about 2-3 hours, though I was also watching a movie in the background so got distracted on occasion. There aren't any particularly fiddly parts that should cause trouble for more experienced than a Lego novice.

There are a *lot* of pieces left at the end, including a few which aren't even used in the set, so don't get worried when you get to the end and see quite a big pile left on your table.

I would 100% recommend this set to any fan of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars films.

A fantastic display model

I really enjoyed building this lego.
The building process went very smooth. The legs are a little loose but it is still manageable. However, I noticed that the lego set comes with some extra pieces that there are not going to be used in this lego.
Overall, I really like it.

Great droid model

This was one of the worst build experiences I've ever had, not only are the instructions not always helpful (bad angles and such), the set is just designed terribly. God forbid it be easy to assemble. Everything is so spindly and done in such a terrible way. Everything is loose and overly fragile. 

I will admit, it does look good when finished, but most of the enjoyment of LEGO is the building process, and this is totally unenjoyable.
