I "helped" my son build this set, and the unique pieces and overall design made the experience fresh. I found myself tempted to swipe a few of the rare parts, but I have integrity. That's what you call it when you don't steal from an 8-year-old, right?

Different but good

LEGO

The set was amazing and truly fun to build! Macaque is my favorite character so can't wait to see more of him in the future.

Outstanding

I absolutely adore Macaque so perhaps I'm a little bias but I love this Lego set! The mech itself is very sturdy- and can stand well on its own! I love all the little details and the mini figures are absolutely adorable! This is also the first Lego set I've ever bought (Although, I have helped build other Lego sets in the past for friends), and I really enjoyed sitting back and building it up piece by piece! The instructions were easy to follow, and it was just overall super fun putting it all together! I'm just so excited to display my build-! And in regards to playability, I'm sure kids would love this set! The mech is a little more on the fragile side in regards to actual play I believe, but I'm sure it will hold up just fine as long as you aren't too rough with it! Plus, there's other things to be played with within this set! The mini figures and canon especially! Overall, I highly recommend this set, and I'm super excited for more Lego Monkie Kid !!!

My son got this for Christmas and loved it. He was very happy about the changes that have been made with the mechs - much more sturdy!

We love Legos

This was a good build. I liked the technics used. I changed a couple of things on it as I do with most builds.

Good Build

I am a little bit biased because I love mechs. This is a nice looking model I wouldn't say it was the best building experience a little repetitive but hey that's mech building. The new parts are a huge improvement and make the model a lot more stable.

Evil Macaques Mech!

This set is really good I bought it for my sons birthday. The minifigure selection is really good ecspecially Mei's fire rings but Sandy should be big fig . The building was very boring according to my son. The mech is very sturdy wich is very good.the small good guys vehicle needs to much better but overall it was very good

Incredible but room for improvement

I've been a Lego fan for my whole life, and I've never been this disappointed. The set itself is neat, and the build was fun. My disappointment comes from the fact that the main assembly is a large monkey, not a mech, even though the set title clearly states that it is a mech. By definition, a mech is a large piloted combat robot. This set is not a robot, nor can you fit a minifigure inside it as a pilot. I'll take a closer look and  think twice  next time I see a set with the word ‘mech' in the title.
