LEGO City "Mail Plane" (74 pieces).

There aren't a ton of bricks in this set, but, it's still moderately challenging to assemble (2 medium bags of blocks, 1 small).  I tried to be cute and build this without the instructions, just the photos on the box, but, while I came close, I failed, and had to do it the right way.  I was expecting stickers, but, thankfully, all the graphics are printed on the bricks instead, which I wish LEGO would always do.

The plane sports a working propeller, pivoting skis, 2 opening mail storage compartments on the sides, and a removable cockpit canopy.  Yellow isn't my favorite color, but, it's a nice looking aircraft.    I think the plane could have used a folding wheel, ski, or strut of some sort, to keep the tail up off of the ground, though.

The pilot mini figure looks like a Canadian Mountie to me and has a snazzy cap.  He's nothing special, but, a perfectly serviceable character.

The little white dove on the red mailbox is a cute touch.  Given that there are three opening containers in this set, I wish that LEGO had included more than 2 letter bricks, and perhaps some small packages too.

This is a very nice ten dollar model that I wholeheartedly recommend; it's more impressive than I expected for the relatively low brick count (I like to see closer to a 100 pieces in a set at this price point, but, some of these blocks are larger and more expensive ones too, so, it balances out).  I give it 4.5 out of 5.0 next day air mail deliveries.

It was a gift for my Great Grandson who will be 6 in July, and he loved it.  We got him several Lego gifts, and that was the first one he wanted to put together.

Lego City Mail Plane

This is very cute. Great details with many moving parts. Be careful - there are many tiny parts if you have little ones. We are going to set it up with the Elf Club House as Santa's mail plane

As at least one other LEGO builder mentioned the plane will not balance with the landing ski's when installed the way the instructions have you do it. I found that by moving the plate with the ski's to the back and moving the curved piece to the front the plane will now balance. See attached picture.

I bought this set for myself, the delivery time was a bit poor but I suppose it was c=being shipped from Belgium.
The packaging was handled with care with no damage to the box at all.

Th isn't huge but I still love it and if you are looking for a nice gift or something to entertain yourself this is ideal.

Overall I love it!

Great Set

This was one of those sets that seemed really unassuming until I had it in my hands. It has a really nice, kind of cute profile that reminds me of some sort of small bird. The design itself is really nostalgic to me as well, because the parts are kind of basic and it reminds me of some older stuff from the city line I really liked. The only real bad thing I can say about it is that I wish there was space on it for a 2x2. That's a small complaint though and it has plenty of cargo space for regular letters.

Pretty good

This product is a bit more than what I expected upon purchasing it. The set is very easy and fun to build, and it looks great in the end. It fits in well with the vibrant LEGO City theme, as well as the cozy Winter Village theme. I really like the plane's red skis and exclusively-printed vertical stabilizer, as well as the new birth element. My only complaint about the set is that the built-in mail carriers on the plane are hard to open because of the way the wings are built. Though not necessary, I also think it would be cool if a pair of wheels was also included in the set. That way, the plane could be transformed into a normal-use vehicle, rather than one for snowy conditions alone. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product l, and it is definitely worth the buy in my opinion.

Flying Fun on a Budget

Great Pack.

My 5 years old son chose the set himself & built it all up by himself, he was very proud of himself, and he has been playing with the jet all day long, even with other Lego characters.
