Lego 3 in 1 Viking Ship

I have been building lego for 30 years and this set has some of the best SNOT building techniques I have seen.  The sail is also a great technique and looks fantastic plus the set has Vikings!  I really enjoyed building it so much so I got a second set so I can have 2 ships in my medieval scenes.

My 5yo daughter and I built this over the course of a week and a half. While doing the build we bad some discussions about sailing, norse mythology and vikings which was fun. I always look for builds with symmetric sub components so we can build in parallel and she can compare her build to mine. And this build has lots of symmetry to help. 

The final build is great and my daughter was excited about the minifigs hanging from the mast lines like in the box art. The only play critique is the shields sometimes are hard to take off/on the posts without pushing out the spike or removing the post holders on the hull. 

Overall we love it though.

Fun build with minor play issues

So nice to see a viking-themed set available to purchase! I've had my eye on this bad larry for awhile now and was hoping to grab it after christmas. Thankfully my brother picked up on this and gifted it to me! I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together (went with the longboat and serpent option) and currently have it displayed with some of my other sets. I hope that LEGO plans on releasing more sets like this because I will be buying as any as I possibly can!

VIKINGS!!!!

This is first purchase as an adult and a really liked it! The ship is amazing and for the price its hard to get better. 
I built the house to 90% and got bored and I didnt even try to build the wolf. Instead, I rebuilt the ship and itwas still fun.
My advice: build the ship last!
Really fun piece to build and I can imagine for kids to play with. My kids are still young to play with it but they are getting it next.

Found in promotion, why deprive yourself? - Yes. A little difficult to build the drakkar according to my son but beautiful final rendering. I like the dragon very much. He found his place on the exhibition shelf. See if he will test the other constructions but I do not worry too much...

Interesting subject

We bought this for our son to have some fun during the school holiday. He was patiently waiting the whole term. We opened it and started the build. I am a professional builder since my childhood so I know how to sort and find the pieces.  He finished the serpent's snake but we couldn't finish ANY of the other builds due to missing pieces. I took note of them and there are about 10 pieces missing. It is impossible to build all 3 builds at the same time. You have to choose one and finish it. So this is not a 3in1 pack. It is a choose-from-three pack. Totally a waste of money and time.

Totally disappointed

My biggest disappointment with this product is in the very first bag of Lego bricks, I was missing 2 parts! I've built Legos for over 10 years and can't remember when I built a set missing even 1 part, let alone 2! I am shocked and disappointed I have to wait at least a week for my replacement parts to come in the mail so I can finish this set. 
Other than that, the Viking Ship and Midgard Serpent build is great and a lot of fun. The color palette and style of the build really fit the Lego theme and is sturdy. I would recommend this product but be wary of the missing parts problem as it appears other reviewers experienced similar issues.
