I love Legos and this was a challenging set took about 15 hours and was worth it. The detail on all of this is amazing. Yes I am a Lego obsessed person so this was a good buy.

This was purchased for an adult Lego-maniac as a gift. It took approximately 15 hours to complete, including 4.5 hours just sorting through all the pieces (this is one of the first kits in a long time that I have put together where there were not individually numbered bags, so that you could easily pull it out of the box and just put it together). I would recommend a large workspace if you plan on building this (you'll need it!). It was a lot of fun, though, and looks spectacular when completed. I would recommend it for experienced builders or builders who have an interest in architecture.

A lot of fun for the eperienced Lego enthusiast...

I purchased this recently, so glad I did, I could not have asked for more perfection. This model is simply outstanding and definitely for the expert builder. You can build the two towers at the same time but where is the fun in that? I chose to build them separately. As the bags are not numbered it took me about 3 hours to sort the pieces out which was fun. 4,300 pieces is a lot and overall it took me about 12 hours to build. I love the model cars as well. Now for Big Ben to add to my collection.

BRILLIANT, LEGO HAVE DONE IT AGAIN.

Let me start out by saying that this was one of the absolute best Lego sets out there! Some of the features include mini cars, and a working Draw Bridge. To save time while building, organize all the pieces before attempting to build, and build both towers simultaneously. This should decrease the time significantly. It took me roughly 3 hours to organize all the pieces and 10 hours to actually build. The final product comes out to 40" in length and 17" in height. I am using mine as a centerpiece on my coffee table in the formal living room. It wasn't too hard to build either, as I had taken a 10 year hiatus and only recently have gotten back into Lego's as my 5 year old son enjoys playing with them and Legoland: Florida just opened. I recommend this set for any true collector.

Amazing!

LEGO

This was the first LEGO set that I bought in several years and all that I can say is that was absolutely addictive, it was difficult to stop before it was finished. It took me 10 hours and a half over 4 days.
Once I opened the box it seemed that the amount of bags did not stop appearing. I chose to not separate the pieces in advance, opting to grouping the type of bags and keeping the parts in them. I had difficult in find only two pieces and one of them was my fault, I dropped it in another bag by mistake.
It became a little bit repetitive in some parts because everything is done in doubles and there's a lot of sections built with a huge amount of small pieces.
As soon as the final result takes shape it became even more thrilling and when it's finished makes you want to admire it.

In resume, it's a must have to a LEGO collector and will definitely occupy a highlight space (a huge one) in your room.

Amazing monstrous piece

This model is absolutley amazing! The detail that went into this is insane. I have the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower which are very cool but this tops it off. The retractable drawbridge is a cool feature. Also not alot of lego's have the medium blue color but this one does. I dont have it but once it comes out I will be one of the first to buy it. Also you might be able to fit a small lego car minifigure size through it.

Best Lego Yet!

My hubby gave this set as my birthday gift. I decided to build it with my 7Y son and 5Y daughter. The hardest part is definitely the sorting. Once you figured out how to sort in your own way, even two little kids can do most of the work. It took one Stanley sorting box and several lids of plastic storage bins. Also, since I worked with my kids, where to build is important, too. We worked on IKEA "LÄTT Children's table and 2 chairs," you won't accidentally drop any tiny LEGO piece because the edge of the table is slightly higher than the table surface. Believe me, this table and chair set is very good for kiddos to play LEGO. We did it in a casual way, and it took us five days to finish. I would say we played 2-3 hours per day.

Dream set for every LEGO fan!

In my opinion this is one of the best classic Lego sets available today.

Mostly I build technic Lego combined with Mindstorms but from time to time I like to create a classic lego creation. When I saw this set, I was immediatelly in love with it. In november 2001 I was in London and visited the Tower Bridge. Based on my memories and photos, it is a very good clone. If we would replace the real Tower Bridge with a real size Lego version overnight, I am sure many people just waking up, should take this Lego set for the real thing.

Maybe it looks easy to build and in a way it is, however you need to have an eye for detail. I suggest that when unpacking this set, you immediatelly sort the pieces carefully. This will save you a lot of time later on. When you start building, create the two towers simultaniously.

On thing I regret is that the road on the bridge is a little lower than the road on the towers. This is necessary because otherwise the bridge cannot lift. However, with a half technic bushing and a 1x2 plate you can raise the bridge to the same height as the towers road and your bridge can lift. Take into acccount when you go for this fix, that you have to correct the two blue bridges on top equally.

The finished Tower Bridge is simply stunning. I can look forever to this amazing and impressive replica. The color combinations, tan walls, white windows and ornaments together with the special blue on the bridges and the white/grey roof with golden ornaments. Just a perfect combination.

It is regretfully that the grey basement is not one block higher, so you can build a Power functions motor to lift the bridge. I am thinking on motorizing the bridge by using a "worm" gear (in this way the bridge is locked in any position). Problem is available space, So I think the best place to put the motor is between ground and first floor where the driving axe is as close to one of the corners as possible. The batterybox can be placed on the last floor on the same height as the blue connecting bridges (in that way you can power the two bridges with the same box. An interesting excercise.

When you do not know what to ask for your Christmas or New Year, this is the perfect gift when you like classic Lego. Once finished, it is a very nice presentation on your living room or home.

I am sure, this set will become a collector set.

Quit an endeavour

I would give this a 5 stars for beauty. The reason for the 4 stars is because when you have 4,000+ piece puzzle, it would have been nice if LEGO would have grouped them by color or some sort of order! All pieces come in individual plastic baggies but there's no order what so ever to them. Took my daughter (who can put an average size puzzle together with her eyes closed) almost one hour to find just one of the base pieces. The second identical piece was in a different bag?
Other than that, if you have tons of time in your hands and a desire to put this monster puzzle together, then this has your name written all over it.

No tolls required to drive on this one

The product itself is outstanding! But walmart failed to package this item properly. When you spend 250$ on an item, you expect to receive it in perfect condition, but due to poor packaging, the box was deformed on arrival.

Excellent product,packaging could have been better

This Lego set is beautiful. Disappointingly, Walmart shipped a box with a big rip at the front. I have a sent it back for a replacement. :/
