The iconic 1989 Batwing as seen in Batman (1989) played by Michael Keaton. This monster spans just shy of 2 feet wide and is hefty in its overall weight! Though I don't play with any sets I make I don't imagine this really ranks up there in play-ability for kids and is more for display purposes only.. and what a display it is!

No real complaints on the set besides the usual sticker placard instead of it being printed. I'd say this build took me about 6-8 hours in total.

Iconic Batwing Brought to Life

This set is definitely one of the coolest Batman themed sets I've ever built. 

It is extremely detailed inside and out. It displays perfectly with and without the stand and on the wall. It is a symmetrical build so there is mediocre repetition. But it's extremely sturdy and very easy to move around. My nephew really enjoyed playing with it and since it's that sturdy and does not contain many parts that detach easily. I didn't have to worry about any little pieces breaking off. And, just like the recent Batmobile, this LEGO was given the right age rating. 

Overall, you should definitely buy this one if you have the Batmobile. 

PS. I hope they release the Batboat in the near future.

Awesome set! So much fun to build! A++++

I'll make this simple. Build: Very good, well detailed, and stands out great. Displayability: Not often you have three ways to display it, on the stand, off the stand, and mounted on the wall, and all work well. Stand: Works well, but I wish we could've been able to change the angle. Otherwise, the only way to change the display angle to lift the entire thing off the stand and turn it. Minifigures: All are well detailed and done well, but it feels like the selection is a bit weak. Value: Pretty good. It's lighter and has less pieces than the Batmobile, but the wing span makes it feel larger and more worth the money. Overall, a very good set, and it's one I recommend if you can get it.

TO THE BATWING!!

Thoroughly enjoyable build, would recommend to any Batfan. Looks great with the 1989 Batmobile The first thing that attracted me to this set was the ability to wall mount. This is a high quality Lego build that looks amazing on my wall.

Amazing

Love this Batwing from the Original Batman Movie. The detail is outstanding. I only wish it gave a bit more detail on wall mounting or if they had a video tutorial of best way. I fear it falling off the wall once up.

Great Throwback

Solid and it's huge, i would recommend this set place on wall, that way you can fully display its unique shape and less headache finding a place for it, because  it consumes so much space when on the stand and it does not look good

Excellent display set for any of Batman fans

Why didn't somebody tell me he had one of those... things?

This was my first huge build. I've done others, less than 1000 pieces, so I felt I was ready for the challenge. I am a huge Batman fan so I was super excited to start this build, and enjoy it by taking multiple days to complete it. I truly enjoyed every minute. 

I did start with the stand though. I figured that way I would have a place to hold the batwing while I was continuing the build. 

I was concerned when I had to build the wing edges because they included rubber bands. But it worked out perfectly. 

The only thing I don't enjoy is putting the stickers on. I am always worried I will put them on crooked and the whole piece will bug me if I can see that it is tilted in anyway. 

The only real issue that I had was that the set was missing a 1x2 black grille. But I contacted Lego and they quickly sent me a replacement part. So besides the build being awesome, Lego customer support is what will keep me coming back for more, and more, and more Lego models in the future.

He stole my balloons!

This was a fun and semi challenging build. I had bought the Batmobile for a friend and didn't wasn't to miss this one for myself. I had a vision to mount it in front of a moon decal on the wall to recreate that scene in the movie. The moon also glows in the dark but not bright enough for a good picture. I couldn't have been more happy with this purchase.

The build of this lego set was very fun and it took me a good amount of time. I like how detailed it is and it is a very good price for how big this set was. There was one missing pieces but I was easily able to replace it with a identacle piece.

Great build

After completing the 89 Batmobile ( 89 Batman is still my favorite Batman movie ) last Christmas I said to my girlfriend "if they make a Batwing I'm buying it" Almost a year later and here we have the Batwing, which she bought as an early birthday gift for me. Absolutely love it. The build was easy and very fast for me. The cockpit has some easter eggs and the overall presentation is much grander in person than any picture could give it credit for. It also pairs beautifully with the Batmobile. Love the exclusive mime Joker and Lawerance the henchman. I only have 1 complaint..missing a vital part. This is why I haven't posted any pictures of it. on display with the Batmobile currently it's just sitting tight ( see photos ). The part, which lego is sending me, was a white rubber o-ring which attached the outside wing edge to the main body. It was also missing a 1x1 flat dark grey square needed for the cockpit. Luckily I had plenty of spare parts to replace this common part. This is also why it's 4 and not 5 stars. Mistakes happen, but still, missing 2 parts on a $200 kit is not a good thing to see. Regardless I would highly recommend this kit

Winged Knight

I was very excited to build this set, having finished the 1989 Batmobile in the summer. The start of the build is the same, where a framework is made to build upon. The problem was the second bag created the underside, which has about five larger slabs to stick underneath as part of the framework. They simply did not work, each part keeps popping out or falling off regardless of the amount of pressure used. I carried on building with the hope that subsequent parts will compensate but that just didn't happen. All the way through building the Batwing the underside just kept falling off.

I can only assume this is a defective set I bought as nobody else has mentioned this, which boggles my mind. My only option now is to resort to using glue, which in my mind is very anti-Lego!
