Simple and straightforward construction process.

What a Great looking replica of this Classic 1966 Batmobile. The Engineering Design Team really outdone themselves with this gem. I grew up watching the 1966 Batman series when I was a kid and while I was building this set, the theme was playing in my head which brought tears to my eyes. 

It was Great that there was an option to leave the studshooters out, which the Batmobile didn't have machine guns and had pieces to cover it up which left 4 studs on the front of the hood exposed. I added (2) 1x2 flat tiles to cover them up. There were 2 gaps in the upper fin area which I filled in with 1x2 tile pieces. I also replaced the red dome light and the gold radar pieces with studs. Added a black handle bar piece for the antenna and an extra piece from the Lamborghini Countach for the Batchute handle under the arch. All the gray pieces under the canopies and trunk hinge were replaced with black. Now where is Robin the Boy Wonder? The show was known for the Dynamic Duo. I borrowed a Robin from another set which is the wrong one, but better than none. Included was the Classic Joker Minifig with the white powdered mustache which was a plus. All in all, an Awesome set, but with the modifications, a Super Awesome Adult set that was fun to build. Thank you Lego for making this Classic happen in a Lego model to own. Batman!!! Kapow@$?%

A Love Letter for the 1966 Classic Batman Fans.

I have been a huge fan of Batman for as long as I can remember. It all started with the classic TV show.

Here we are FINALLY getting the official LEGO set for the Batmobile. For me, it was a fun and easy build. The finished product does not roll that well though. It could be because the LEGOs are new and stiff. But I bought it to display.

I do have to state that I do prefer the custom TV Batmobile that I built a couple of years ago though.

Also, LEGO, please make the Adam West Batman minifig available by itself.

Classic TV Batmobile

I hope LEGO will make every different batmobiles with their specific Batman and Joker, cause these little sets are just perfect to display. I like the fact that this batmobile is minifig scale. A bit too weaponized, as usual lol, but no big deal, you can easily remove both firing canons and the hood of the batmobile. For the price, it is a must :)

Classic batmobile :)

Yes! That's correct. The scale of this Batmobile, with a real life 18.5 feet, is true to the common scale of all Speed Champion sets. It is fun to build, a beautiful replica of the 1966 Batmobile, invoking memories of slanted camera angles, POW! BAM! BANG!
The only missing addition that the designer should done was a blazing fire from the tail, and LEGO makes several. I used 85959px1, which is huge, but after trying many smaller flames, I liked this one best. See my pics.

Speed Champion lovers will love this

I love this set. I watched the series while building it for an extra meta experience and it was so much fun. First of all, the Joker may be my favorite minifigure ever. The painted-over mustache is something I've loved since I was a little kid, I dressed as Romero Joker for Halloween a few years ago and wore a fake mustache and painted over it, so to see it in minifig form is literally the BEST. The Batman one is terrific, too. And the Batmobile itself was a great build! It was different than other vehicles I've built so I appreciated the different techniques utilized here. If I had to find one complaint, it would have been so much cooler to gave some kind of mechanism that shoots a grappling hook out or even a parachute, or both, but now I'm getting greedy. It looks great, the display is cool and together, all of it makes me very happy. I would loooove to get a similarly sized Burton Batmobile one day. That would be pretty bonkers.

To the bat-review!

Let's begin with the good points. I missed out on getting the classic batcave so jumped at the chance to purchase my favourite batmobile to my mind this is the most iconic of all the batmobile,s ever!. The finished build brought a nostalgic tear to my eye & the rotating display plate is a nice added touch. The minifigures are great renditions of both the caped crusader and arch enemy the Joker. I especially like the moustache on the Joker as fans of the 1960,s will appreciate. Now for the bad points. No Robin! I hope Lego will release the classic batcopter at a later date with the boy wonder included. You have an option with or without shooters on the front hood I prefer the latter as this is more authentic on display the shooters are quite rightly there to add play value. The removed shooters left 2 studs showing that left the hood looking unfinished. I remedied this by adding 2× 2-1 slates and the fins on the rear of the batmobile had an unsightly gap that I remedied by using 2×2-1 flat pieces. These 4 small pieces gave the build a better finish. I had these 4 small pieces in my box of spares so it wasn't to much of a problem. I'm sure Lego take great pride in there product but these minor alterations gave a better finish to the build & maybe Lego could take more care in the future. Overall I recommend all batfans purchase this build but add the 4 pieces for a better finish.

Batmobile

I love this Lego really everything there but I don't understand why you didn't put robin on plus there's an empty place just for him but no they just put Batman on. In addition to that now people can only have this robin cars it was only in the classic Batcave which is now an encien products. Really Lego you can do better.

Great, but where is Robin?

This is a nice small scale model of the original Batmobile, well priced & goes well with the large 1989 Batmobile Lego model.  But I marked it down on playability as for me it should have come with Batman & Robin mini figures, would have made far more sense than the Joker being included.

No sidekick woes for this old Bat fan

Overall, LEGO has been doing great with their selection of Batman related sets.  The large 89 Batmobile and Batwing, Batcave and sketches Batman have been great additions to the line.  I would say the same of this set *IF* it included Robin and flames for the '...turbines to speed.'  

Unfortunately, LEGO has recently been skimpy with the minifigs in some of their sets (ie: Dino in the Flintstones, Owl, Kanga and Roo in Winnie the Pooh) and now Robin here.

This set was a fun build taking about an hour.  Excellent use of hinged bricks, styled bricks to create vehicle accents and a couple fun new pieces.  It displays very well.

Classic Batmobile a fun build

As a fan of the original Batman TV show, was happy to get this set. For the size, they seem to have captured the shape of the batmobile pretty well. Disappointed that Robin was not included, but appreciate the Cesar Romero joker. 
One thing I fixed, was the lack of a flame shooting out of the center rear exhaust port. Not sure why they didn't include the two pieces necessary to make it more authentic (see pictures)
