[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Disney Castle Lego set as a birthday gift from my fiancé. I've been staring & begging for it since our last Disney World trip back in March. 

The castle is ABSOLUTELY everything and more. I love how much love and detail was put into this set. I wish the castle was a little bigger, but other than that, it's perfect. I love the mini-figures that came exclusively with this set. They're super cute! Not to mention the awesome details on the back of the castle.

I also wish lego would make this or future set a 360 all around castle. I think that would absolutely be so stunning! Other than that, 10/10.

Happily Ever After

LEGO

First off I want to say this LEGO set was a pretty awesome build bottom to top with tons of very neat details put into every corner to each section of this set! When I first saw this set was available early to VIP's back in August I contemplated on getting one because of the cost of the set. Then after seeing it sold out so fast both in August and then on its release date in September I realized I just had to go for it and just get one! So I called the LEGO store nearest to me and off I went!

So the build took me around 12-13 hours over the span of a few days to complete. Once you are all done with completing the construction of this set you'll truly appreciate the time and thought that was put into creating and constructing this amazing piece of art. The Disney Cinderella Castle has a lot of neat features from a variety of different Disney films which LEGO did an outstanding job with putting so much detail into each and every section. 

I did go a little above and beyond by illuminating the entire castle. I illuminated the outside with colorful lights just as it would look at Disney World. Then I also installed lights on the interior. I was able to do all of the lighting without gluing or drilling holes through the plastic.

Overall this is a great set to build, own and I would really recommend getting your hands on one! I will say that this set is not the set you would want to play with once it's built other than displaying it.

Great LEGO set to build!

I Loved building this beautiful Disney Lego Castle, I Absolutely LOVE Disney and I Absolutely LOVE Legos ever since I was a little girl sometimes my mom would build with me also, but this Lego set I built myself with a little help from my mom since some of the instructions were a little bit confusing, and some parts were hard to put together I started building on Tuesday the 22nd and finished on Sunday the 27th It was really fun to build and is exciting and beautiful to look at

Absolutely Stunning and Extremely Detailed

The Disney Castle - Cinderella's Castle - is an awesome set. The amount of detail and the treasures scattered throughout the build are just fantastic. I especially love the glass slipper and the firework popper. I love the way the elements work together in the build. I would be building according to instructions and wondering where it was going - and suddenly the build would come together in a 'wow' moment. If I have any quibble it is that the balcony is not big enough to put Mickey and Minnie there. I can squeeze Mickey in but Minnie's dress just won't fit :( Overall though, this is a truly wonderful set that is challenging but well worth the effort.

must have for Disney fans

Wow, where to start. This is a big and quite expensive set, but with over 4000 pieces its more than worth it. There are 14 bagged building phases to this set and contains so many parts I've never seen before. The build guide is very satisfyingly thick. A couple of things really stand out for me about this set that makes it so much more fun than other large sets (thinking Tower Bridge here):
The variety of different elements to be made up, particularly for the lower turreted level means that the process is always changing and it's never tedious. You have to pay attention and concentrate though. There are some interested internal colour coded parts that help you orientate elements you've built correctly and it's easy to make a mistake. Like a Disney movie the build teases as you don't put the castle together till right at the end due to all the tiny beautiful details and it tells a story as you go. So you'd have a real 'Tah Dah' moment. You find lots of references to Disney films throughout the set. The rose in a bell jar from Beauty and the Beast, a glass slipper in a casket hidden on one of the towers, the spinning wheel from Sleeping beauty, the mops from Fantasia amongst others, plus lots of the other fun items. Sausages! My favourite is the demonic looking Jack o Lantern. This set is crammed with details. It really is a beauty and more a work of art than anything else and a little bit of the magic Walt Disney World Resort right at home. My only slight issues are the decals you have to apply to some parts. Printed elements are always preferable. Also the blue of the roof tiles I find a bit strange, it's very dark and I would have thought one of the slightly lighter blues would be a better match to the real thing, but these are very minor comments. This is one of those sets that I saw in a LEGO store and knew there was no point resisting. It would be mine eventually, so why not now, so went ahead and bought it without question. For Disney fans or not, the is an impressive and technically well designed set. You will not be disappointed.

Simply stunning

This set is a true joy to build. The exterior is incredibly accurate and there are numerous fun details on the interior. It would have been nice to have more minifigures, however, the detail provided for the exterior more than makes up for it. To be clear, this is really a display item more than a play set. 

This set truly becomes magical when you light it up!!

This set will remain built and displayed for year to come. Make sure to get one before it is retired!

Light Up Magic!

This set is, in a word "impressive". The attention to detail is fantastic and I had a great time building this set. There was not a lot of repetition to the build which was great. My only negative would be how poorly the top section of the castle connects to the bottom section. There are only 8 single post bricks that connect the two sections and even the slightest bump will send the top half tumbling off of the bottom half. As I have quite a supply of Lego pieces that I have collected over the years, I did a little re-engineering of the connection. I removed the single post bricks and the surrounding pieces and substituted them with multi post pieces of the same color as the original pieces. It is now a bomb-proof connection. The top section can be removed if you desire but it takes quite a bit of effort now. The original design was poorly thought out. That aside, it is a GREAT build and well worth the money.

Beautiful Set

Gotta say as a Disney Princess fan this was a must have! I did think it was a bit pricey but after spending the amount of time building it, it was totally worth it!! I do think i would have preferred a few princesses with it but I'll do well with what I have! I would have preferred there to be a door on the balcony so that it the characters could go outside. I do have to say it is most definitely my favourite lego piece and will get pride of place in my living room.

Loved loved loved this!!!

This set was a ton of fun for my family do together. We love Disney World, and we enjoy Lego. We put Cinderella Castle together over the course of about 3 weeks. We worked on it about an hour at a time, usually completing a step (there are 14 of them) before putting it away until the next time. Great time together with my wife and kids (but really, I had more fun than anyone!). 

And that leads to the most important point... PLEASE make more Disney World sets! I'm begging you Lego, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more sets from Disney World! I am begging you to take my money! I will pay whatever you ask for these sets, like the Tower of Terror, Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth, a World Showcase set, Main Street USA, the Haunted Mansion, the Monorail... the possibilities are there, and I will buy ALL OF THEM! Please just take my money so I can build more of Disney World!

Please Make More Disney World Sets!!!!!

In the past, I have been pleased with the durability of the constructs, allowing children to play and move props and characters around. The haunted house construct I built 3 years ago continues to stand allowing children that come to my office to play and interact with it.

The castle, however is a different story. It made a beautiful Christmas display, but even my 6 year old granddaughter was afraid to play with it, noting the rocking of the tower whenever she tried to move something. The tower has a tendency to topple off the balcony base, breaking up in the fall.

I would recommend more joining blocks to attach the tower to the balcony base. I plan on buying these blocks and replacing the smooth blocks with joining blocks. Not sure this will be enough to keep it together when played with but worth a try after all that work.

If the piece is for display only, I would recommend it. Just don't let children get at it!
