Colossal

LEGO

For his 13 years. Third HP collector’s box: the one she preferred I think.

A great birthday gift

This was my best Lego experience ever. I loved seeing the train take shape. I have been making the fun last for more than 3 weeks.

A memorable experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful!!

Exactly what we ordered.

walmart.com

Lego is back to trains. In the end, there are few Lego trains. Even in the game “City”, compared to a few decades ago. Besides, they are fanciful. A by the TGV which dates and the Emerald Night. Here is a belle opportunity to offer on a "G" scale the famous Hogwarts Express Train from Harry Potter. From belle invoice and very detailed, Lego once again shows its know-how. Could it be the start of a rail series, with iconic models like the Pacific, the Orient Express, a Farwest model, and the Back to the Future flying train... on the same scale for more details. I agree with you, but it is beautiful.

Fa-bu-leux!

Disclaimer: I'm certainly not the level of builder as many other reviewers. But I don't understand the negativity. This set has been a delight. More importantly, my kids love it. No, it doesn't match up with the track size of other trains, but how could it? It's huge. And the scenes and station add a nice touch.

Delightful Set

I received this as a gift from my partner. It's a fantastic set with lots of Easter eggs that reference to different films. There are a lot of pieces but it doesn't seem to overwhelming as it comes with 4 books. I didn't use the books, I used the instructions online which helped me more. It's a great size but I did receive 9 extra mini wheels that have no use. I was convinced I built it wrong but it seems there were just extra? Unsure what I'm going to use them for but better to have too many than not enough!

Great build

Lego fan, I can only see the astronomical prices that are made on the new set. The rails are not compatible with other Lego trains, the platform is too small, lacks details and characters. Disappointed with this collector... People want a new Gringotts set compatible with the 75978 set. Make happy, listen to your fans and lower prices... your margins are crazy and your profits too.

VERY VERY CHER! - Yes. - Yes.

Alina

This set is a very fun and challenging build. I'm a huge Lego and Harry Potter fan with all of the HP D2C sets and most regular sets going back a few years. I was excited when they announced this set, but a little frustrated with the price. The set is a fun build, but leaves me wanting more. I love the Hogwarts castle, which is fine even though its in micro scale. My issue with this set is that its minifig scale, but significantly off-scale from all of the other major HP sets. It's awkwardly large. I would have preferred a nicely detailed, but smaller Hogwarts express, similar to the most recent version with a more substantial station build. Also, like others, I'm a little disappointed in the minifigure selection. This is a high price tag with a ton of figures, but none of them really stand out as being particularly special or unique. Would I recommend this set to others? Probably not... the high price tag makes leave me wanting more. I could have been happier saving some money with a simplified the track build.

Fun build, but not quite there...

My biggest issue and it's a big one. I wanted a motorized train to run along side my Lionel Hogworts Express. Very sad. Maybe some day you'll get it right. It's a beautiful set but just mainly for display...mostly. sad sad sad... I love lego. Don't forget...even us old adults like to play....not just look at.

Very Sad...so close but far away

For the extortionate cost of this set... you'd think they'd actually put the correct station on the plaque you receive. 'King cross' isn't correct and for a collectors edition I'm so disappointed there wasn't enough attention to detail to spot such a simple mistake!

So disappointing

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors' Edition, Iconic Replica Model Steam Train from the Films, Collectible Memorabilia Set for Adults, 76405 — 1:32 scale side profile of the red steam engine with coal tender and a 3‑compartment passenger carriage; lit windows reveal three film scenes, Platform 9¾ micro build and 20 minifigures. Model measures about 118 cm (46.5 in) long and the top lever makes the engine rock; suitable for display in collector cabinets.
