It's a great toy, my son already has Optimus Prime, so Bumblebee was a must. Easy to build, but make sure your child has the patience to change it from the car to the robot, as it is a bit tricky. My son has all the patience in the world for Lego thankfully.

I think the engineering in this model is amazing, and even better than Optimus Prime. Optimus' vehicle mode is boxy, which works for Lego bricks, but Bumblebee has curved surfaces. As I was building it (in vehicle mode), I kept trying to figure out how it would eventually transform into a robot.
And I like how the face and leg plates are printed instead of stickers.

I see other comments complaining about they can't transform the model from vehicle mode to robot model because the instructions aren't clear. To me, the instructions in the manual look exactly like instructions from the original Transformers toys: dashed arrows that you're expected to follow to move the parts. 
As for the issue of parts falling off, I would suggest moving the parts based on the instructions: in other words, move the pieces from the joint, not the ends. And as always when playing with Lego sets, keep a firm hand on it so the pieces don't fall off.
Remember that this isn't a die-cast metal model like the original Transformers toys... and even some of those toys had pieces that would fall off if a part was moved too firmly.

As for people who are "voting" for models of Decepticons, keep in mind that Lego *never* makes military models. This means Megatron (transforms into a gun), Starscream (transforms into an F-15 fighter jet), and so on, won't be turned into a Lego set. But maybe Lego can make the sci-fi Decepticons like Galvatron, Cyclonnus, Scourge, or Unicron.

Excellent Engineering

This set was an absolute joy to build! I love the Lego Transformers line, and I have every one. It’s so cool how each one can be transformed into their vehicle counterpart! There is only one downside about this set, and that is the missing pieces. It was only missing a few, and they were easily replaceable, but I expect complete sets from Lego. Other than that it was an awesome set, and totally worth the money!

Epic Set!

As a bumblebee fan I love this set and I don't know why there was hate when it was announced it's a good set but some bricks can pop of in use all in all 4.5 out of 5

We LOVE this set!! Bee transforms!!! Omg I just love this little guy, super cute and interactive. My daughter loves building legos. It makes her anxiety go away! Much better money spent on legos than any therapist we’ve seen. Highly recommended!!

One of the coolest gift

My son loves building Lego sets and this set had him working for a couple days. Truly thought he was going to finish it all on Christmas but didn’t get it done till the day after. Thank you!

Outstanding!

When transforming him he's really fragile and a piece could always break off but otherwise he's cool

This set is cool but..

This is for my great grandson. He loves building Legos and I’m sure that he will love Bumblebee. I like that after he builds it he will actually be able to transform it into a car. Most Legos he builds and they go on the shelf, but this one does something more.

Enjoyable build but painful transformation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this awesome Lego set for free in return for my honest review.  My family loves Legos.  We are very excited and grateful to receive the Bumblebee Transfomer Lego set.  My son's love for Lego's has inspired him to pursue an education and career as an architect in the future. Lego's are challenging and fun. Creating with Legos has helped my children's fine motor skills, patience and cognitive skills.  This Transformer Lego set makes a great gift for any Lego, Comic book, or Movie fan.  I highly recommend it! The instructions are clear . Countless hours of fun awaits.
