As someone who has always been fascinated by space exploration and detailed model kits, receiving the LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V set as a birthday gift was nothing short of a dream come true. I had previously owned the Revell Saturn V model, so I was already familiar with the iconic shape and structure of this historic rocket. But the LEGO version offers something uniquely rewarding: the satisfaction of building it piece by piece.

From the very start of the build, I was impressed. The instructions are clear and engaging, and the overall design is incredibly faithful to the original Saturn V rocket. One thing that immediately stood out to me — and will definitely be appreciated by fellow LEGO enthusiasts — is the fact that there are no stickers involved. All details are beautifully printed directly on the bricks, which really elevates the quality and longevity of the model.

The finished model is truly imposing in both size and weight. Standing at about one meter tall, it's a towering display piece that commands attention. And it's not just about looks — the model is built in three detachable stages, just like the real rocket. That adds a great layer of realism and makes it perfect for both display and demonstration. It even includes mini lunar and command modules, and a trio of astronaut microfigures, all of which add extra depth to the overall experience.

What I love most is how this set combines the joy of building with the awe of real-world engineering. It's a great conversation piece, and every time I walk past it, I'm reminded of both the Apollo missions and the satisfying hours I spent building it.

Fantastic set

LEGO

I spent hours of fun putting together this LEGO set. When Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the moon, I was only 12 years old. It’s crazy how the images of this space trip came back to my mind as I was putting this set together. Thanks to LEGO for bringing us back to the past.

Exceptional

There's absolutely nothing bad to say about this set, it's an absolute joy to build and a joy to experience.  

The build is challenging at times, but extremely rewarding.  It's clear how much care and attention has gone into the design with many interesting techniques and details.  The fact that the three stages and that the lunar lander and CSM module are included is a delight, as well as the mini lunar surface and ocean pickup dioramas.

I wouldn't hesitate at all in recommending this set to anyone with the remotest interest in space exploration.

Pride of my collection

I bought this set a while back, and it was extremely fun to build. I loved how challenging it was, and how many cool techniques used. This is not my first set, I have a couple modular buildings and other large sets, but has not let me down in any aspect. There are NO STICKERS! Which makes me super happy. I also love the lander and escape pod mini builds. The price is also absolutely amazing. There are large pieces, but it still is low priced. Thanks LEGO!

Accurate, and super amazing challenging build.

This quite possibly may be the greatest Lego set in modern times. Where do I start? First of all, price/piece count ratio is fantastic. No stickers, just beautifully printed bricks. High playability with the multi-stage rocket, mini moon lander, and splashdown capsule with four microfigures. Displays either horizontally or vertically, making it easy to fit into most rooms. Huge historical significance, even the piece count is 1969. Novel build technique for the core of the rocket. Gorgeous box. Neat instructions with photos and facts about the '60s space program. Seriously, this is one of the best sets ever. You knocked this one out of the park Lego!!!

GOAT set??

I purchased this for myself because I've always had a love for anything space related, and the Apollo programs. I will just say that the pictures do not do this product justice. It has amazing levels of details, and the size of the product is awesome! (It's seriously a good size product)

Other than a few assembly issues that were a result of me misplacing the position of four blocks which threw the alignment of the engines off, and required me to tear it apart again (again this was totally my own fault). Everything went together smoothly and everything was properly documented, and easily readable,This product defiantly made for an awesome weekend project

Space Lover

Born in the late 60s my childhood was much influenced by NASA's achievements with the Apollo project. 52 years later this Lego Saturn V encapsulates all of my childhood excitement and joy. Fascinating build and stunning end results. I simply love this rocket, not least because it is HUGE! The addition of the astronauts, LEM, and capsule are really brilliant Highly recommended. Thanks Lego!

Great build, great Lego model!

I really enjoyed the complexity of the build, several designs for the internal structure are head-scratching; Why did they make it so hard,,? but then I remember it's a puzzle, (with directions) - it's supposed to be difficult. This provided hours of concentration where I think of nothing else.... a happy place. BTW, this is my first Lego set ever purchased for me. I had never done any Lego set by myself before... but I really enjoyed it.

Time Well Spent.

Very fun to build, especially a fan of the minifigs. Thank god there weren't many, if any, stickers as far as I remember. My one problem was how complicated the skeleton of the rocket is. I feel like the points of connection for the sides of the fuselage were hard to line up, and even then (though I could have made a mistake) it held on by a thread. Overall fun set though!

Amazing set, just one criticism

I had a good time building this set and I loved taking the sections apart but I dropped it while taking apart the sections and it fell apart if it was built with technic pieces it would be more secure

Good but fragile

I've built at least 15 or 20 of the adult and TECHNIC kits but I finally had to give up and throw this one back in the box to keep my sanity. Building the first stage is a nightmare, first just trying to keep the top & bottom halves together, and then while you attempt to attach the 11 inch long sides that have so few points of connection that when you finally get the top part connected the bottom comes unconnected. Connect the bottom back and now the top disconnects! 
I've seen a few others point out this and other problems with this stage and I've read Lego's comments suggesting to “make sure all the pieces are tightly pressed together” which is almost insulting, like those builders didn't think to do that? I don't know, maybe it gets better once you are past this point, but if you can't complete this then you can't move on anyway. 
I have enjoyed building Lego kits in the past and expect to enjoy others in the future, it's normally relaxing and therapeutic, but I find this particular kit to be just the opposite. It's frustrating, exasperating and just plain aggravating. I can't believe so many others gave this 5 stars, as far as I can tell if I ever expect this model to be completed and able to be displayed it will need to be glued.
