Some reviews mention the repetition.  I felt the level of repetition was kept to a minimum, considering the nature of the build, with excellent instructions and the excitement of seeing each part of each continent take shape as you work your way through.

The last bag containing the final touches and the answer to the question 'how on earth is this going to finally fit together?' gave a real feeling of satisfaction.

It's a big piece.  While you definitely wouldn't want to drop it on the ground, the central structure gives it far more stability and less fragility than expected.  

I learned a lot about how unusual structures could made using pieces I recognise as a fairly casual builder (only a few seemed custom made or 'unusual'). 

Extremely well designed.  I love it!

A joy to build and to behold

This is a really good build for those who are interested in building legos but are not a huge fan of any of the collaborative companies. can be flimsy when assembling the globe to stand but stable once on.

Impressive

Talk about a fun build. My background is in geography so of course I had to pick this up before the set retired. Intricate and fun build. First set I've done in a long time that has taken me more than one day (haha)!

Impressive!

This was one I had saved for and wanted to tackle. The instructions were clear, easy to follow and well illustrated. The end product is such a statement piece.

Beautiful Product

This was bought to build together with a friend. The format of the set - with clear modular structure, allowed easy sharing and collaboration. 
I would recommend this set as a good one to either build solo, or share the experience.

Perfect collaborative set

This has to be one of the most impressive sets LEGO Ideas has ever released. It is extremely detailed and look amazing when completed. The build is very similar to the UCS Death Star II that came out in the early 2000s.

One of the things that I liked about this set is that there were no stickers. All of the pieces were printed. I like that you could turn the Globe just like you would a regular one. I also like the added rubber tires underneath the stand which provide some sturdiness to the build.

The biggest flaw about this set is ample amount of repetition. From the stand to the Globe itself, you're basically doing the same thing over and over. I, myself, don't mind excessive repetition.

But, overall, I had a lot of fun building this set. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a LEGO your parents won't mind displaying in the family room.

Fun to build! Great to display! A+++

Was so intrigued when I saw this online, thought it would make a great addition to our decor. The build was fun, it can get repetitive as you make a lot of the same components for the sphere - Put on a fun show or movie and you'll be golden. It's really amazing once assembled, I really didn't expect it to spin so smoothly.

It Spins!!!

Really enjoyed the build on this one!  I suppose it is a bit repetitive, but the techniques used in the build are so innovative that it keeps things interesting. Placing the different land masses was lots of fun, and suggests all kinds of possibilities for customization (including, perhaps, a new Star Wars "Death Star"?  Hmmm....)  This one makes an awesome display piece, too -- highly recommended.

Cool display and enjoyable build

I enjoyed every moment building this set! I wanted the world map but sadly it retired before I could get it so when I saw the globe set I knew I had to buy it before it was also gone! I have always dreamed of exploring the world and now I can use this globe to mark the destinations that I've visited! Big thumbs up!

Build your world

I truly stunning looking product, one that earns its place on any shelf.

The build isn't too complex and very repetitive. It wasn't truly captivating, but the end result is.

My only negative is the glow in the dark tiles doesn't really glow in the dark at all; it's like a feint glow. You can not read the name plates at all. I'm not sure if I have problematic ones?  They look nothing like the picture advertised when glowing.

Round the World...

This set is incredibly repetitive requiring you to make the same object for the stand about ten times and the same few objects for the globe itself about 20 times each. So if you don't like repetition I wouldn't recommend building this, on top of that it is incredibly fragile with the lightest touch breaking parts of the globe sometimes leading to them falling into the globe, and when you try to fix it if you aren't incredibly careful it breaks more. Would not recommend. Cool display piece though.
