Features bigger-than-expected bug figurines.

Beautiful set. I bought it for my 13 year old as his first lego set since he bought the Harley Davidson five years back and only did half of it. Since each insect was sorted into it's on build, he was able to drip feed himself one build per day. The results are beautiful. The colors pop and he is very proud of it. The butterfly is especially beautiful, with the mantis coming in second. I recommend this set to everyone who is in to Legos, or anybody who loves animals. Some of the techniques are a little difficult, and it definitely had to be rebuilt once or twice due to a missed step, or a fragile bit (like the wing of the beetle) came off the main body, but I think that this set can be completed by anyone with a little patience. The 18  age rating makes no sense in my opionoin. Amazing set, 100% reccomend.

The pricing was competitive with Amazon AND they had it in stock, arriving before Christmas.  The product itself was great.  It was a present and was a huge hit.  Beautiful pieces.  The only downside was that the beetle wasn't the most stable on its base.

Wonderful display

if you like lego, and bugs. get this! All three are awesome builds. we love butterflies at our home and the butterfly one is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a great decoration. It's a fun build. plenty of pieces and a good value for those pieces. probably my favorite lego purchase so far.

I've been eyeing this set for the longest, so when it was half off for black Friday I snagged it! It's such a cute set if you're an entomology girly like me. It was fun to put together and I love the way they turned out. I wouldn't say it's a difficult build, but I would not recommend it for younger children, they may struggle with the instructions as it's a bit more intricate.

OBSESSED!!

These are beautiful and I ain't seen anything like this in a Lego! Not ever. Like I used to use Legos to make block houses and then there were fire truck sets but I never liked the little men with the faces painted on them. Just didn't like them. Then in the 80s my buddy Bravo got the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and that was amazing and yep I broke it when I knocked it over but he put it together again and then got a case for it so I couldn't break it again. And now these snap-together insect Legos are like the Millennium Falcon all over again in terms of amazingness only not so vulnerable to getting knocked over and pieces going everywhere. If the wings or the legs could move it might be better but that's just being picky. I like these here and they ain't just for kids. They say for adults but they're okay for kids, there's nothin inappropriate going on or anything, just plain Lego fun with a hint of science. Good for grandkids.

Not Weird At All

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING LEGO SET , however putting it together was hard . The colors are super bright my daughter was excited to receive this ad her Christmas gift! It was great high quality legos too none broke even with a 6 year old assembling the tiny detail in the eyes ! If you have Lego glue they make great decoration!

Great for everyone to look at

Bought as Christmas gifts for 9yo son and nephew. They thought it was the coolest. Took them the rest of Christmas Day to put it all together and now proudly displayed in their rooms. Difficulty was enough to be a challenge but they were able to complete them without assistance.

This was the perfect gift for our Lego and big loving son! He's only 8, but he loves this set! It is beautiful and challenging. I got on Black Friday, so it was 50% off, which I believe made it worth the price… I don't think it would be a good value at retail price ($80).

Lego Ideas sets are geared more toward adults, I believe. They are intricate and beautiful display sets. The Insect collection offers 3 separate insects to build. The builds are challenging and time consuming, but turn out amazing.  The butterfly is colorful and sturdy, and the preying mantis seems delicate and yet, is very hardy.

The only build I had an real issue with was the beetle. The wings, fabulously rendered here, are very touchy and will fall off with even a little touch, which makes displaying the beetle with opened wings is difficult, but possible.

Beautiful but fragile set.

I like this Lego for kids' brain development. The package comes with instructions. They are beautifully design. The color is matched. The parts of this Lego are made in China, Vietnam, and Switzerland. It is great gift during holidays. After it was assembled, it is great for decorating.

nice design
