These are beautiful and I ain't seen anything like this in a Lego! Not ever. Like I used to use Legos to make block houses and then there were fire truck sets but I never liked the little men with the faces painted on them. Just didn't like them. Then in the 80s my buddy Bravo got the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and that was amazing and yep I broke it when I knocked it over but he put it together again and then got a case for it so I couldn't break it again. And now these snap-together insect Legos are like the Millennium Falcon all over again in terms of amazingness only not so vulnerable to getting knocked over and pieces going everywhere. If the wings or the legs could move it might be better but that's just being picky. I like these here and they ain't just for kids. They say for adults but they're okay for kids, there's nothin inappropriate going on or anything, just plain Lego fun with a hint of science. Good for grandkids.

This LEGO insect set looks absolutely amazing on display, and the details are incredible. However, a few parts are not very stable and tend to fall apart easily if you move them. Great for a shelf, just be careful handling it!

Beautiful display, but a bit fragile

I've been eyeing this set for the longest, so when it was half off for black Friday I snagged it! It's such a cute set if you're an entomology girly like me. It was fun to put together and I love the way they turned out. I wouldn't say it's a difficult build, but I would not recommend it for younger children, they may struggle with the instructions as it's a bit more intricate.

OBSESSED!!

If you're new or old to Lego this build is fun in many ways. Each index is about 8-10 inches yall. And they are very colorful, So get a shelf ready.

JUST BUY IT!

I love this set and the building techniques used are really cool. I love how each insect is roughly to scale to the real life ones and each display is specific to each one. I definitely love this set and would recommend it to others. 

I only knocked of some points for playability because they are better as display pieces and don't offer much as far as playability is concerned.

Excellent build

LEGO

For having not built a Lego set in 15+ years (I'm 32) and seeing this pop up on my TikTok FYP when it was announced before preorder for VIP Lego members, I just had to stalk this release! At 12:02 am my order was submitted on VIP release day and received it September 9th. By the end of the evening I had built the entire set and loved every second of it! The detail and originality of the bricks were so fun to work with! The size of the finished figures are perfect as well. I was going to set it up in my science lab classroom, but determined my 3-5th graders would mess with it when nobody is in the room, so for now at least have decided to keep it at home. Love this either way! Definitely get this if you're interested! It's a fun and beautiful set! 😍

A Beautiful & Unique Set!

Bought for myself and as a gift for a friend. Very fun to build and took me about 3 hours to build all three of them. I like the bases that they're on and how it looks like they're perched on wood in a forest. The insects are very vibrant and stand out beautifully. Definitely recommend

To display these I bought a terrarium from IKEA, made a cardboard base, covered it in fake moss, and the put other fake plants around it so make it look like a forest scene.

Beautiful and vibrant

I bought this set after completing the botanical collection. I felt it would go well with all the flowers. This build was by far one of the best ones yet! The amount of detail for each insect was perfect! I enjoyed building this very much! I can only hope they add more insects to this collection!

Beautiful set!

Lego Ideas sets are geared more toward adults, I believe. They are intricate and beautiful display sets. The Insect collection offers 3 separate insects to build. The builds are challenging and time consuming, but turn out amazing.  The butterfly is colorful and sturdy, and the preying mantis seems delicate and yet, is very hardy.

The only build I had an real issue with was the beetle. The wings, fabulously rendered here, are very touchy and will fall off with even a little touch, which makes displaying the beetle with opened wings is difficult, but possible.

Beautiful but fragile set.

I bought these and built them with friends. Really fun to build side by side. Beautiful end result and fun build. Most of the time you are building the branches the insects sit on and not the actual insect so thats not as fun. Also the price may be a little high for what you get. However over all I'm extremely satisfied and hope Lego makes more builds like this!
Note that the beetle and mantis can stand on their own legs or on the branch, while the butterfly can only be mounted on the branch. 

Ps. You get cute little ladybugs and a bee!
