My 9-year old grandson was visiting from out-of-State and saw this at a local store.  I told him I would order it and have it shipped to his home so he did not have to carry it on the plane.  It was delivered very quickly and he had the dinosaur put together in one day.  The rest of the items, he finished putting together the next day.  I couldnt believe it as the recommended age is 16 .  It is a great way for him to learn and keep him entertained

Great Lego Set

This set is just perfect. It's just a shame that there's a few things missing. For example, Ford cars in the Jurassic Park. Lex, Tim, Robert Muldoon, Gennaro, a velociraptor and perhaps a dilophosaurus. Otherwise, I loved building the lego and then doing animations with the t.rex. And one last comment: the toilet should have been outside the doors.

This was definitely one of the coolest sets I've ever built. 

I love the design and detailing, especially on the T-Rex. Although this set has a decent amount of repetition, it was not to the point of getting too boring. The added rooms in the back of the gate were definitely a good added feature to this set. 

The price was pretty reasonable, considering the number of pieces and the licensing.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this set to any LEGO or Jurassic Park/World Fan.

Totally awesome! A++++

As a fan of the Jurrasic Park movies I was looking forward to building this set. The size and look is great. I like to take pictures and had so many ideas for this set. The T. Rex has a lot of articulation which made it easy to pose. The gate with all the little movie scenes is awesome! Even the little item that's inside the T. Rex is such a nice touch for the fans of the movies. If you're a fan of Jurrasic Park or Lego I would highly recommend this set.

Terrific Jurrasic Park Set!

As a big Jurassic Park fan, this set was a must, so when I got it in the mail I immediately opened it and got to building! It took me three hours for the Tyrannosaurus Rex and an additional three hours for the gate. I was so pleased with the details and Easter eggs throughout the entire build. Clever use of existing pieces and a pretty straightforward build. With it's size and detail it draws all eyes to it and I often just admire it. My kids have a lot of fun playing with it when I get it out and I like setting up the various scenes on the backside. Great set for any fan of Lego or Jurassic Park.

"Life um, finds a way."

One of the best Lego sets I have seen. I love the design and detail of this set especially on the T-Rex. I was thinking of so many ideas for this set and I finally found one which I love. If you a fan of Jurassic Park then this is a no brainier.

For all fans of the original (1993) JP this is a product that I would 100% recommended however, as stated in the title, there are some design flaws that I will now address:

1) so much of the detail is in the vignettes at the back of the gate - but when you have it on display you can't see them - and so there was really no point in having them in the first place (for most customers that will buy this, it will be displayed on a shelf - and so you can only really show off the back if you have a 360 degree display). It would have been better to have the back of the gate greyed out and then to have those iconic scenes built as a separate row or column.

2) The T-rex's Teeth are too small - they should probably have been about twice the length that they were made.

3) The head of the t-rex keeps falling down - to position it upwards and to the side, I had to wedge a folded tissue in between the head and neck. Otherwise it just falls down and to the centre - the ball joint that connects the head and neck is not very good.

4) The neck of the T-Rex should have been connected through a ball joint so that it can be positioned at different angles, as opposed to just ‘up and down'. (The ball joints that connect the tail are excellent, so I'm not quite sure what happened with the ‘head-neck' connection?) 

5) One of the scenes for the vignettes is the toilet in which the lawyer, Donald Gennaro gets eaten - however he is not included in the set, but all of the other scenes have their required characters.

6) Dr Ian Malcolm's torso piece is not as high quality as his face and leg pieces. 

7) I really feel like Donald Gennaro, Robert Muldoon, Lex and Timmy should have been in this set.

8) There are tyre tracks for the base of the build which you can see if you zoom in, there should have been the iconic Jeep Wrangler to sit on that - which would be able to fit: Ellie, Ian and Robert. (with the way that I've positioned my Rex, it would have recreated the scene from the film where they are being chased)


With all of that said, this was still a brilliant set. It had a great build flow and I would recommend this to any JP fan - those were just things that I picked up.

I would really love to see Lego continue making more Jurassic Park sets, as opposed to Jurassic World sets, like this one. Preferably designed for adults (16+), over children 

There are so many more scenes from the film that can be used and made into large sets: maybe a large design for the visitor centre, the sick triceratops, the battle at the end where the three raptors surround the main characters and then Rexy saves the day, raptors in the kitchen hunting Lex and Timmy - I have seen this set before, but it would be better if there was a more detailed build aimed at adults - with an intricate design for the raptors.

Maybe even a Spinosauros from JP3 that could scale to this t-rex.
Large, individual JP dinosaurs would also be cool

Brilliant play experience with some design flaws

My husband and I do builds for fun. I was obsessed with the look of this and couldn't wait to build it. I didn't think I would be building the dinosaur over and over though. His head is too heavy and causes it to fall and look down all the time. If you try to reposition the head up the legs wobble. We thought we had done something wrong because we have never had design flaws like this before with any of our other builds. So there we go taking it apart to rebuild before we even start on the gate. Rebuild and have the same issue. If you walk by the table we're building on too quickly or bump the table even slightly the dinosaur face plants and his head falls off. When you try to put the head back on you have to be super careful or the legs fall off. Then you put the legs back together and the tail falls off. So this time we finally get it back in one piece and move it to the display while we're finishing the gate. Come downstairs this morning and there he is face-planted against the glass :( 
I love the details of the gate and the scenes inside but looks like the dinosaur is going back in the box until we can find a way to secure him without falling over. I refuse to reattach his head a 5th time.  So sad I can't display it as he is great looking!

Delicate design

I bought this set for my 6 year old who is a huge lego fan and loves dinosaurs. He wanted this set since we first saw it announced. He really enjoyed building it, it was challenging for him but not so much, he did it all by himself.

The issue is that he was very exited after building the T-rex and he wanted to play with it ASAP, but the legs keep falling off!!! I verified that they were correctly attached (I could hear a click when attaching them) but it happens all the time whenever he tries to move it while playing. Of course if you treat it as a delicate ornament they don't fall off, but I mean who wouldn't want to play with such a cool dinosaur??

He is very happy with his set but it is now just sitting on top of his big pieces table as a display only. It should definitely not be that way, I think it totally takes all of its value away.
