I dont know how lego packs these boxes. Ill always assumed no doubles in a box and I still havnt got a double but other people are complaining about doubles and same 2 boxes. I musta got lucky because I bought 4 boxes and got 2 complete sets. so the 2 boxes coming from target will just be bonus ones. I have a theory though. I think lego puts 3 figs with more pieces or ones they figure will be highly sought after and 3 not so popular ones. maybe

We purchase two boxes and opened them up while on a long weekend getaway!  Believe it or not.....we got EVERY ONE of the minifigs...NO duplicates!  That was so cool!  These minifigs are SUPER creative and adorable!  We were NOT thrilled with the popcorn guy  after each of the others were so detailed and cool!  so that is why I had the 4 star rating on one of my reviews.  But I have heard from one person that it was their favorite!

I ordered 3 boxes that were put on backorder. I got them today and among the 3 boxes I got the entire set. None of the boxes had duplicates within themselves, but obviously with ordering so many I have dups to have fun trading now. Thanks LEGO!

Series 23

I know we are more motivated to write a review when they feel upset about the purchase. Just want to say, I bought three boxes (18) and was lucky enough to get a full set.

It was not bad

Agree with others.  This is a great series.  Such cute minifigs and special pieces.  I bought 2 boxes and got 100% dupes between them.   I expected a few dupes between the boxes but 100% from so many reviews leads me to believe the boxes are all the same.  It nice to get at least 6 unique ones so just buy 1 box.

Good but just buy one

I would buy more if I thought that there was a chance to get a full set. At least give me hope that there is a slight chance. But alas, there is no hope.

Too Many Dups

First time reviewing and first time purchasing a minifigures 6-pack. I bought two boxes, with each box containing the same characters. Overall, not worth the money.  It's not worth buying more than one box. This will be my first and last purchase of the 6 pack. If you're feeling lucky you can either buy a lottery ticket or more than one box.

Buyer Beware - Low Value for Money

I only wanted 3 specific Minifigures out of the whole collection. Bought 18 Minifigures. Still only got 2 of 3. This is just a money grab idea from Lego. Shame on LEGO. They want you to gamble. When you gamble the house always wins. 
If you want specific Minifigures, pay extra and buy specific ones guaranteed from third party sites.

Random - bad idea if you only want 1

Normally I love the collectible minifigure sets, but this one disappointed me. I ordered three 6-packs of minifigures. While I didn't get any duplicates out of a single box like some other reviewers had, ALL 3 BOXES had the Knight Girl, the Nutcracker, the Wolfman, the Reindeer Girl, and the Popcorn Guy. Two boxes had the Sugar Fairy in the final slot and the third had a Dragon Lady.

Perhaps I just had extremely bad luck this time around, but 2 identical boxes and 1 that only differed by a single minifigure? This is why I prefer test-feeling the packages before buying them, but I haven't found them in my area in the 2+ months since the set released. I am extremely hesistant to ever order minifigures this way again, even if it means completely missing a series.

Build Experience: They're minifigs. There isn't much "building" in the first place.
Play Experience: A few of them have play value, but most are of the "display and look pretty" variety.
Value For Money: Normally I consider collectible minifigs pretty good value, but not when I get 5 triplicates and a total of only 7 unique characters out of 18 opened.

Least random distribution I've seen so far

Its getting tougher to get specific minifigures in these series, not every collector wants an entire series and even if they do that feat is also becoming harder to accomplish. This is more disappointing as its a purposeful move and choice by Lego.
