I never really had much interest in purchasing a Ninjago set, but when I saw a review of this on YouTube, I new I had to have it....And boy what an INCREDIBLE set. So much detail, a fun build, and just an overall wonderful set at a decent price.

Way to go LEGO!

A new Ninjago fan!

This set is a must have for any Ninjago fan! Lego fans will enjoy the build as well. Seen this line only days before its release and knew straight away this would be the first set I'd be purchasing. It comes with all the ninjas with their new two-piece masks (which are awesome!) as well as Wu. All the new costumes are cool but I think Cole is probably my favorite of the bunch and he also seems to be the one with the least amount of reappearances in other sets. 

I took my time with this build (or at least tried to) to appreciate the amount of thought that went in to the details of it. Below the deck the details never stop, the functioning bed, family portrait, helmets of past foes, walls of weapons, the sink, toilet, and multiple lanterns all make feel very much like "home". The details continue up on the deck. Right out front with the two-headed dragon bowe. After building many of the past dragons ninjago has done, these heads are the best to date. The on-deck garden and fishing set-up again goes to show that it's the ninja's home being built. The working dual anchors, fish storage, janitorial supplies and multiple lanterns are all nice touches. The two rooms are again filled w details. The training room, full of weapons and a training dummy, has places to pose the figures to simulate practice and sparring. The captain's deck includes few nautical devices as well as map and more greenery. The bamboo roof is one of this set's best features. It's delicate and will pop off easily but goes back on easily too. The sails are great and eye catching. There was no chance of my wife missing this set when she got home from work, or of my son ogling over it when he got home. 

Don't really play with any of my sets. As inviting as this one is to want to play with the vast details make it a nightmare to piece back together. Some of the places are hard to reach back in to to replace pieces once it's built. The deck lifts off as well as the two cabins to allow access in to the rooms which is another great feature. 

All in all, this set is a triumph. Challenging but more just keeps you interested and wanting to see how it all comes together. Definitely the best Destiny's Bounty thus far.

Loved this build!!

I picked this set up at the end of a long day at Legoland Windsor with the kids as MY treat, and this set has to be one of the best value I've ever bought - you would expect a set of this size and detail to cost at least half as much again - even double.

This was built over two a days and had a low count of repeat build elements to keep the interest going. The creative use of stock pieces made this a joy to build.

Lots of lovely details and the finished size make this a great buy, and it really is the best looking boat that Lego has produced.

Superb Value for Money

I've owned several Lego ships in the past, but this one by far is one of the most pleasing to the eye. It's by no means the biggest, but the shape, the layout, the colours and details, down to the stickers used for decor, are all so pleasing. 

The build took me around 6 hours and features some fun little building techniques. Little things like the signage on the back of the ship, chimneys/pipes, foliage growing on board and bunting hanging between the masts make the ship a visual treat. 

Unlike the other ships, it has no front mast (much like a traditional Chinese Junk ship) and took a while to get used to the stubbier-wide design with the dragon heads, but the overall look and details of the ship make up for this. 

I recently bought the Silent Mary from Pirates of the Caribbean, and whilst I like that set, for less money Destiny's Bounty is so much more.

Superb Lego Ship

Not really a big fan of themed sets (e..g Ninjago, Star Wars etc.) so this was a bit of a leap for me as I'm usually a Technic/Creator builder. But so glad I did.

15 bags of fun made it a couple of afternoons worth of building that was throughly enjoyable.

Level of detail and features within the hull and topside make this set a joy to build and look at.

Only one thing to pick on, the mounting of the large red lanterns is a little fragile and very easy to knock off so you need to be careful with those.

Brilliant and beautiful kit

I received this set as a Christmas gift and have just finished it over the weekend. I don't really know what to say other than... WOW! This set is absolutely AMAZING! I've been building Lego for only a year but I love the creativity of these sets.
There are so many little things that were delightful discoveries as I went along, like the bathroom with the little gold sink taps & toilet flush button. The bed is also an amazing piece! It might sound crazy to get all excited over a bed and bathroom but the detail just blows me away!

I kind of hate to say it but, as much as I adore my Lego Creator Parisian Restaurant modular which has a similar piece count, this set was even more of a delight to build. The Parisian Restaurant was a bit more linear and straightforward as it's a building. However, the curves, flourishes, and little details on the Ninjago Movie Destiny's Bounty were a challenge which I greatly enjoyed.

To put things in prospective a bit, I am visually impaired to the point that I cannot read print unless it's enlarged. Even then it's an inefficient, tedious process. However, the picture instructions Lego uses are fantastic and I always end up figuring them out in the end even if I have to take a break and come back later. I thank Lego for putting all their instructions online so I can download them to my iPad and view them as close up and zoom in and out as I need.

With my eyesight, this set took me likely 20 or more hours to build, not counting breaks. I know I spent at least two full days from waking to sleeping on this. To put it in prospective, I worked on this set last Friday from about 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM with few breaks and that only got me through bags 8-12. Other sessions were in three or four hour blocks some afternoons and evenings between starting a new semester and getting into the routine of psychology and applied ethics coursework. I started the ship on January 1st or so and just finished it Saturday. I'll say again, in the most emphatic way I can, IT WAS WORTH IT!

Some people might have problems with the fact a bunch of plastic could cost so much money. However, I do not belong to that camp. This is something that can bring immeasurable enjoyment to kids and adults alike. Lego sets can be made in so many different ways. It's better than spending $200 on some fancy toy for your kid that never changes and that goes out of style/becomes obsolete by next season. I see Lego bricks as timeless and clasic in a way that's only achieved by a handful of toys. YOu can spend $160 eating out an expensive restaurant, a hotel room for a weekend getaway, or a day at the amusement park for a family if you're lucky. You can't even keep those outside of your memories and souvenirs you shell out more money for. Lego provides memories and is a tangible thing that lasts. That in mind this, and all other, lego sets I have purchased or received as gifts are ALWAYS worth the money.

A phenomenal and Fantastic Set for All Lego Fans

I haven't played with Lego for almost two years, so I planned to get me a really nice set. There are lots of good other options, like the Marvel ship or Silent Mary, but I glad I chose this one. The set is enormous, I went kind of slow and it took me almost 8 hours to complete the build. The detail of the ship is spotted on. I highly recommend you consider this set. I have played with Lego for more than 10 years, and I have to say this time Lego got me good.

Extremely nice set

I am one of the happy customers who did not buy the Destiny's Bounty for the Ninjago theme but for its absolutely stunning looks inside and out. This set is brimful of detail. The non-European style makes it also something special among Lego ship sets. 

Like in a real ship, there is plenty of interior space below deck. Together with the other two levels this offers surprisingly extensive interior space and all of it is full of accessories, furniture etc. Among the many things, the functional bed is one of my favourites. Also the toilet build, a utility often missing in Lego sets, is pretty neat. The most impressive exterior detail are in my opinion the two dragon heads which are entirely brick built with very creative use of pieces. 

The only aspect I did not like was that the sails are fixed longside ship. That simply makes no sense for a ship with sails. However, it is very easy to change the connection so that the masts can be rotated freely. To do so, one has to merely replace the 2L/4L axles connecting the masts with the ship hull with 3L/4L bar elements. I had 2 left over 3L bars included in my set and one can borrow the 4L "laser" bar from the ultimate weapon as well. Therefore I did not need any additional elements not included in this set for this modification.

With the last point easily modified there really isn't anything negative I could say about this set. It is a real beauty, a fun build, by far and large very sturdy and pretty sizable too.

One of the best LEGO ships ever made

I brought this set the other day and it is amazing. First of all the set is huge which allows it to be very detailed. Second of all the price of the set and the amount of bricks included is incredible. I honestly made an account so I could tell people how great this set is. A must buy for any fan.

Fantastic!

I bought this for my grandsons for Christmas. The first bag was missing two pieces and we had to hunt through all of our old Lego pieces to find something that would fit. Then, the rusty brown colored pieces started breaking. At least two dozen of the brown pieces broke throughout the build. We had to go and buy superglue just to build it so there are several places where it won't come apart. I would definitely not buy this set again or recommend it.
