Father Christmas bought the Fire Mech for my 6 year old son at Christmas because he is Ninjago movie and Lego obsessed. This lego is targeted at 9-14 year olds so is quite complex and intricate, however my son has been building this all by himself and has almost finished it. The instruction booklet is very comprehensive as you would imagine for a construction of this size, but it is really well laid out and clearly explains what to add next in a step by step lay out. The instructions are split into sections based on the separate bags (of which there are 8), so this is great as it means he only has to open one bag at a time which prevents any of the bits getting lost. 
The model stands at about 30 cm high when completed and looks fantastic. You can move the arms and legs so you can really mimic robot movement whilst playing with it...just like the movie!. My son absolutely loves this, its really captured his imagination and he just wants to build it all the time. I have to say that I too am really impressed with it. It's a very expensive item but I actually got it at a sale price so am extremely happy with it. Definitely worth the money I paid for it. I would definitely recommend this product, but obviously younger builders would need help unless like my son they are exceptionally good at doing more complex lego. Fantastic Product.
