Great model

Surprisingly true to the original, this scaled-down S1 Group B has nailed the proportions and panel geometry. The decals are satisfyingly accurate enough, although the predominant HB door decals are missing here. Comes with 2 sets of alloys, but the classic 5-spoke wheels are the ones you want. The finished build is sturdy and makes a great job at tickling your fan/collector fantasy. Particular success: that front splitter.

Group B Nostalgia

LEGO

This is by far one of the few sets that I've had the privelege of assembling. Despite the small form factor, it was extremely satisfying building this car piece by piece and the fact that it's of a rally version of an Audi Quattro makes it all the better.

This is an iconic car many would not have heard or know about, and this beauty immortalised in some of our homes through Lego is downright amazing.

Please release more of these type of cars either through the Speed Champions or Creator Expert version.

Small but worthy

Back in high school, Audi Quattros were my favorite cars. This stubby race version was the ultimate rally version back in the day. So out of left field that Lego would chose to make a set of one but one that I happily bought the first day it was available. It's a better car than most of the Lego attempts at real cars, in that many just don't look like the cars that they represent. Kids are not going to get what this car is but Gen X'ers like me love the chance to reconnect with the "it" cars of my youth. Fun to build, nice detailing with the rally stickers, love the lights and the wheel options.

Reliving my youth

When I saw that they were making the 1980s Audi Quattro I was super excited to purchase it. It's a legendary car in the rally world one of the first to effectively use 4WD and dominate the sport making an estimated 500hp+ which even by today's standards in a 2.1L in-line 5 is still amazing. Now then after some history let's get to the build I was happy to see some of the body detailing was printed on the bricks but too bad not the majority. But the completed set definitely looks just like the boxy wide fender real thing. Another great Lego iteration of a classic car. Only issue is now the Speed Champions cars are wider why not 14.99 anymore and can accommodate two seated minifigure's (which is a plus especially this set that the racer would have a co-pilot, only one figure in this set though) but if you have been collecting the previous Speed Champions ones this now looks out of place and not as Lego like as before which also were a tribute to the designer to make the car look just right but making it a one minifigure seater as in most Lego sets. Still a great set and fun to build an still recommend it but it will have to find a new spot on the self for it to sit. Happy building!

Great Rally Car

I absolutely love my Lego Quattro S1, its 80s boxy design fits well with the LEGO design, almost as if its an actual scale model. I hope you guys would do more Group B cars in the future like the Lancia Delta S4, MG Metro, RS200. Two flaws of this design is the lack of a rally codriver and awkward position of the driver to fit in the car.

Awesome Design

As a display piece this is an amazing addition to a racing fan's collection. But as a Lego car it's hard to rate the playability because the minifig doesn't fit with the roof on, therefore it has zero playability. The left arm has to go high and then tuck the windshield under the arm, but then the roof hits the helmet which makes the minifig fall over. The steering wheel is in an odd position (not centered). [I think it's time Lego did away with this piece and reinvented the wheel.] If you've ever seen this car being driven they need 100% concentration to operate and the driver can't be waving at people. There was also a HUGE missed opportunity to depict Michele Mouton. Quick research would have yielded this. Overall this build is sweet on the outside but sour on the inside. I would recommend this to a racing fan but not to a kid who may want to play with the car.

Minifig should've been female and doesn't fit car

Firstly the plus points:
Looks good as the shape of the original S1 Quattro lends itself nicely to the angular shape of Lego bricks. Good value for money.
Negatives:
It is a race car some will have branding on the car but the amount of stickers is a pain. 24 stickers in total and some are small. 3 bricks are pre-printed so come on Lego more pre-printed bricks please. Would be better with a second figure, like a mechanic or co-driver. With this model you get a driver with helmet but you also get some hair and a spanner so why not a second figure? I would be willing to pay more to have less stickers and another figure to be honest.

I had been excited about this kit from when it was announced, the 8-stud wide build is far superior to the previous offerings. However, I was disappointed to find that a fundamental piece was missing from the box and not even available in the Lego “missing pieces” portal as it's supposedly out of stock. Quite disappointing with a brand new kit.

Beautiful kit, big upgrade, but missing parts

I finished the car and put the set's given minifig in the car. It did not fit (Same for passenger side). The roof will not close. The only way to barley get it to fit I have to nearly break off the visor part of the helmet and lift the arm up to the max.
