Can be sturdy, but some parts prone to breaking.

Clear for some, lacking detail for others.

This guys looks make a statement.  It looks mean for a Lego head.  The build is tricky, some elements are fragile and will come apart due to how the instructions guide the build.  After a couple mishaps I modified how I put it together and all was well.  Love how it looks on my shelf, loved the engineering that went into it, and would recommend this helmet to any collector of the Star Wars heads.

Love this helmet. I built it second after Luke's helmet, and enjoyed the whole process. Clever use of build techniques to achieve the look of the original. There are moments where you must take care so as not to dislodge other elements already installed, but nothing crazy difficult.  Now on to The Mandalorian!

End result is Hard Core…

This is technically my third Hemet but only 2nd completed. Bobba Fett was missing a piece and waiting for it to come. No troubles it happens. This is my favorite so far. The build was more advanced then the others. The pieces putting together were fine as well as the instructions. I had some difficulty putting pieces on the sides without others popping off. It took a few tries but once I found were to hold the helmet and not put to much pressure it went fine. It made it more challenging which was fun. The only problem I had is one of the stickers doesn't look right, but that is not lego, I read the instructions wrong and had to take it off which doesn't look right. Great thing where it is displayed can't see it.
I actually bought 2, one to build and one as a gift. Well its not a gift anymore it's getting built.
I would recommend this to an intermiate builder not a beginner, if someone is a beginner, but it and do a few other builds first so you can enjoy it without frustration.

Perfect build

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is the first Lego Helmet that interested me. I'm a fan of Dark Troopers and decided that this might be a fun project to build and modify. As an adult the build was straightforward but satisfying. After completing the build I added my own Dark Trooper minifigure and some DIY LED lights to achieve the final look.

Fun project (minifigure and LED's not included)

This is my third helmet build.  I started with Bob Fett and then moved on to the Mandalorian. This build was slightly more difficult due to the tilt features incorporated into the build. Fantastic features for accuracy, but it did cause some minor frustration incorporating pieces once on the stand.  I quickly made the decision to remove from the stand to complete the build. And from there it was easy peasy, lemon squeezy. I definitely recommend this build to others and my advice would be this: attach to the stand to check placement, then remove to complete the build - definitely mitigates the frustration.  I chose to return to the stand after each bag completed to check placement. Overall excellent.  Onto my next build….

Great Build, with modification

I own all the Star Wars helmets, including the "Red Five" And Mandalorian helmets.  I've found all the helmet builds challenging, but the Dark Trooper build is a different level of complexity -- really need to pay attention when you're putting this one together.  Of course, as is often the case with LEGO, a build that is challenging and complex typically equates to a really fun build -- definitely the case with the Dark Trooper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dark trooper helmet is way cool, easily put together, lots of small parts hence the fact it's made for 18+. I was missing one piece and contacted Lego and customer service was great and was sending me replacement piece right away. Love how it turned out.

Way cool

This helmet is a nice compliment to the other Star Wars helmets. When complete, it's very sleek and aggressive looking. There are a few parts that tend to fall off during the build as others have mentioned. One piece in particular is around the neck area. There is no direct way to snap the pieces together and really does not fit he normal quality of Lego. The mouth piece is also not very secure and came off multiple times when trying to assemble it to the head. Given that I have done every other Star Wars helmet and have no issues with them, this was a bit of a surprise. In the long run, as long as you are not moving it around, it's not a huge deal, it just did not meet the standard I have come to love of my favorite hobby. Still love it and looks awesome with my collection!

Looks great when finished..but has some issues

The helmet as a finished project looks good however there are two parts of the build that kept breaking off and could see breaking off again when moving to clean. One is the bar around the neck and the other is the mouth/grill part easily comes apart.

Good look'n set but a bit fiddly

I've done over 90% of the Star Wars builds with my son and this is my first review. My favorite part of the build is sorting..but my second is how well everything fits together. This did not have that feeling. I was constantly having pieces fall off as I was putting it together. The instructions don't feel detailed enough. After my son and I finished it, we put it on my desk. Pieces fell off as it was just sitting there. I took it apart and threw it in a ziploc. My youngest can try when he's a little older. I'm taking a nice long break from lego.
