Building Project

Features a well-known and familiar setting.

Has intricate details and is easy to assemble.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I got this for myself but my 19 year old son confiscated this from me as he is a Star Wars and Lego fan as well. I also have the trash compactor diorama that I'm working on as well. Not sure why this has a 18+ rating as it was not too difficult to assemble and no crazy violent features. Comes with 665 pieces, 666 if you count the assistant tool but that's bad juju. Falling in love with the diorama collections and they continue to produce new ones almost weekly it seems. This diorama perfectly captures the Death Star run from A New Hope. Freezes the scene as the fighters are suspended in air with clear mounts. However, if you're like me, you can not mount them and reenact the scene as you see fit. Sounds not included. Like I said, my son assembled it in roughly two hours and that was at a leisurely pace. It is smaller than I expected but not to the point where you can't handle the pieces. The details are stunning and I couldn't be any happier. All in all a great value for both Lego collectors as well as Star Wars fans. Highly recommend!

Wow, seriously!

LEGO

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband has a very stressful career, and he absolutely loves coming home from work and assembling Legos as a way to destress and clear his head after a hard day. He was ecstatic when I showed him the Death Star Trench Diorama because we are both huge Star Wars fans.

He really enjoyed the fact that the Death Star Trench Run Diorama is unique and different from other Lego sets that we've done in the past. The diorama was a nice introduction to greebling, and it definitely enticed us to seek out similar ones in the future!
It was also interesting in that it recreates an iconic movie scene as opposed to just an object. It's perfect for display and fun to build! The details are amazing and it serves as a conversation piece for our fellow Star Wars and Lego loving friends. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends!

Fun activity!

After wanting a decent diarama of the Trench Run I've finally got one thankyou Lego! Yes it could if been cheaper and maybe had a exclusive mini figure added in as well? But heyo it is what it is. Forget the negativity regarding this particular set it completely captures that iconic scene weve all seen and loved in A New Hope. The build was satisfying and enjoyable too. It looks the Dee Bees sitting right next to my Tantive IV corridor.

"Stay On Target!"

This is the diorama that seemed to get the least amount of hype once the sets were leaked, but I'll tell you that after building all three, this one is by far my favourite one. The build is fun, it's not repetitive or monotonous at all (unlike the 117 green tiles in the Degobah set), and it looks absolutely fantastic on display. The micro-build X-wing looks great and the TIE fighters are well represented, too. The only nit to pick is the colour of the interior piece of Vader's side panels being grey rather than black. I understand that the piece isn't available in black at the moment... but why not? It would've made a much better looking wing.

Very nice!

Henny

I love the Star Wars dioramas! Perfectly picked iconic scenes from the original movie. Looks great sitting out for yourself and others.

Great price! Easy to build, instructions easy to follow!

The only negatives I had were no mini-figures on this set (understand it would be hard to place, but as was present on the others it seemed plain). So I bought the Millennium Falcon Microfigher (75295) and using spare pieces I attached above the set like in the movie. I also hated that the 3rd Tie Fighter did not have lasers like the other 2, so with some spare parts laying around I corrected this and attached it lower to be in formation.

Love how we can take a great set and put our own touches! Keep the dioramas coming please!!!

Great Set! Missing something but easily added!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great experience getting to build a snapshot scene of my favorite movie of all the time! My son is a huge Lego Star Wars fan so we built it together and had so much fun. This collectors piece looks fantastic with my other Star Wars Dioramas; it just looks perfect on display. We were able to find all the correct pieces. The instructions were really easy to follow even for my 12 year old. We completed it in less than two hours.
The details are extraordinary and there are many details. My favorite part is definitely Luke's X-Wing! And the plaque with Darth Vader words “ The force is strong with this one” we loved it, i'm so happy we have it as a part of our Star Wars lego collection.

Amazing Diorama!

This Lego is a Awsome diagram of one of the Best scenes of the trilogy would recommend this set to any StarWars collector 100%.

walmart.com

For those who have experienced the release of Star Wars IV "a new hope" it is difficult not to instantly think of this scene in the trench of the black star (its name in the VF at the time) when we evoke the film. It is therefore logical that a diorama represents it. What a belle representation! The implausible and even sometimes ridiculous tangle of pipes on the black star’s surface is perfectly figured in this set, with a turbolaser turret perhaps a little too discreet but as said in the film at this point: “the DCA ... it doesn’t shoot anymore”. As for the four ships it is admirable to have such a faithful rendering with so few parts, a very beautiful work of Lego designer. The construction itself is not very complicated, due to the simplicity of the structure. You just have to be careful enough to place the pipes and elements on the right tenons of the plates because some have to line up at a stage a little later, so if you missed a small picot you will have to go back to correct the error. But it remains quite simple even without undoing the intermediate steps so it is a set that can be done with young children, despite its complex aspect quite misleading. For a reasonable price, this diorama will perfectly represent Star Wars on your shelves. I recommend it without moderation!

A beautiful tribute to the very first film released

My favorite set of the dioramas series, it is as nice to mount it as to observe it! Lots of details and the final rendering is ultra clean!

A mythical scene!

Since this Lego Diorama set was retired in November 2023, it was a challenge to find it but, thankfully, through Walmart we were able to. It was a very good price even though not Warlmart.ca direct. Would have given 5-stars if shipping cost was included.

Great "Retired Lego Set" Find at Walmart!
