Building Experience

Design

Value For Money

My main concern before purchasing this kit was the stability of it, a walker is always going to be top heavy and therefore a little unstable but Lego have done well with this AT-M6. I was pleasantly surprised at how stable it actually is! It can take a good knock even with the legs in an action pose.

It has a very imposing look and some nice play features, the stud shooter is in my opinion the best of the features with it being easily aimed and fired although a little tricky to reload. The spring loaded shooters are a bit tricky to fire due to their location but are well integrated with the model. The interior has plenty of access panels although space inside is limited but I don't consider this a big issue as a walker should be all about its exterior fire power.

We do seem to be missing a mini figure with this kit for its price point with the first order star destroyer having an extra figure. However the new version of Rey is obviously a great addition to the kit and the first order walker driver is a very cool figure to add to the collection.

Well designed and stable

LEGO

This lego was very fun to build. It took me three days(i have two young kids). It had some intresting building techniques that made it fun. 
Most of my legos are on display and i allow my kids to play with them. This set is well designed and it doesnt fall apart when they play with it( no Kragle needed!). It looks amazin on display too. ( It catches guest eyes since it is such a different build). It is quite tall, giving it that movie-like feeling when they play with smaller city builds. 
Overall an amazing lego set! Happy building!

Amazing

Lovely set to build. When completed it looks great as a display piece alongside other similar sets. (Picture to follow). My only minor criticism is that the gun turret at the top is always open to view. As a result I have added a few modifications to make it look a little more like the original AT-AT set for the purpose of display. Would recommend as a set for Christmas gift without any hesitation even without the added extra piece

Great set. Good value for money.

Bought this for my partner for Christmas and we enjoyed building it. Looks great and really good design. 

I must admit however, it can be a little uneasy on its legs if you don't have the stance perfect, but I guess that's what you'd except for something on 4 massive legs! 

Would very much still recommend and it's a great addition to our starwars sets. You get quite a few mini figures as well! The blaster cannon is a lot of fun, although I'd do it somewhere you can easily find all the little red circles again ha! 

Was one of the quicker sets we have done, but for the money, I wouldn't say it's too bad! I have had some sets take longer for the same price however :)

Very good!

Overall this is a great set that looks fantastic when displayed. A a display piece this great set with pretty decent mini-figs. Also the build is awesome.

My only problem is that various technic pieces stick out, with colours such as blue. LEGO does this in most of their products and its disappointing.

Overall great set

I think a good number of people were excited about this set, and I do believe they have been vindicated. This is a very good design with an enjoyable build. It is very important that you take your time and make sure you get every step of the build correct, as there are many subtle details in this somewhat complex design. In fact, the building process of this set feels very much how a "real" walker would be made on the assembly lines of KDY or Rothana. I love that! I kick myself for not making little construction scaffolds and having scenes of workers and droids putting this thing together while I was actually building it, I think that would have worked out nice. Features like that are the hallmark of a great design, when it really does feel like the "real" thing. This looks like a competent upgrade to the AT-AT, with reinforced legs with cable cutters on the shins, and the MegaSix gun that can easily engage airborne targets (at least in play) All in all, the set checks off all the boxes. It looks great, it's well built with sturdiness and stability, and it plays fantastic! Oh yeah... Mini-Figures are awesome too! The driver is especially cool. If you get this set, you'll probably love it.

All Terrain MegaCaliber Six

If I don't have the AT-AT, I opted for First Order Heavy Assault Walker. It is a pretty "walker" about 30 centimeters tall. Simple to build, without any more difficulties. The price is a bit excessive for the number of pieces, despite the beauty of the craft. Small cockpit, with a "body" that can be fully opened to place figurines and ammunition. The operation of the dorsal cannon is very interesting, where six projectiles can be fired from a "trait"! The pilot's figure is well molded and has a beautiful helmet. Too bad there are no more Stormtroopers!

Great!

I bought this set last month with the First Order Destroyer, and Ohh BOIII I love these sets.

It has a really sturdy technic frame and a really cool connection point for the head. It is highly poseable with those connections at the neck section. 

The Gun at the top of the Walker also an excellent play feature for kids. As an adult builder I really enjoyed put together this set.

As a fan of the First Order / Empire it is a really good way to get a walker. Much cheaper, than the previous AT-AT.

Pros:
- Sturdy frame
- Lot of detail around the head and the legs
- Cool build for the main gun
- Displays well 

Cons:
- Side panels pops off pretty easily at the first legs
- Visible technic parts at the top
- Small space inside the body

This is one of the sets I have been waiting for since I first saw the image of this walker, and it is a really good set. It has more weapons than the last AT-AT and a good design.

My only complain about this set are the round pieces on the leg I which they were flat as in the movie. this would be a good piece for the future walkers and for other sets

Great Set!!

I bought this set as part of Force Friday II in September. It was delivered to me with the set polybag 30497 Mini First Order Heavy Assault Walker as a gift. I compared it to the Empire's 75054 AT-AT (TB-TT), the last version released in 2014 and the only one I acquired. It is quite difficult to judge the playability and fidelity of the set to the film. It's hard before you see the movie. In view of the packaging and the little that the promotion lets us see, this vehicle seems to be used in a similar frame that seems to be a copy and paste of the battle of Hoth of episode V. After, at this date, nothing is guaranteed... If the shape of TB-TT, in the Original Trilogy, was based on the skeleton of the elephant, the overall appearance of the Heavy Assault Walker makes much more like a primate (a sloth or a gorilla), especially by the shape of its head with its prominent points forward that give the impression of a falling head, or the forelegs (forward) whose feet are raised towards certain species. arboreal). This helps to make it more massive and imposing. However, in fact, whether in height, width or height, the Heavy Assault Walker does not exceed the TB-TT. This appears to be a belle blunder, as the Heavy Assault Walker is significantly larger and wider than the TB-TT, according to the dedicated intelligence sites. I regret that such a difference was not more accentuated between the two vehicles (proof in the photos). The head has a larger angle of rotation than the TB-TT (set 75054). The compartments at the far back to accommodate the soldiers are not very large. The two front side hatches could have been used rather than being cluttered by so little equipment (a crate and a ammunition reserve). Unfortunately, they are not very spacious, which is a shame. The "metal shoulder strap" that protects the upper articulation of the left front leg is strange but must be part of the original design, although it does interfere a little with the pivoting of the head on this side. The shooting and tilting system of the dorsal gun works and is very well thought out. It is a pity that the bombs (they must be proton bombs in the film) attached to the back of the back do not have a drop system, and that they remain only for decoration (they are securely harnessed). The First Order Stormtrooper and the Resistance Soldier are identical to all their comrades who appeared in the different sets adapted from Episode VII The Force Awakens, beautiful detailed figurines. The figure of Poe Dameron in civilian attire has evolved little since the set 75149 X-Wing Fighter of the Resistance (criticism available from my profile). He simply swapped his light brown jacket for a black jacket (normal in the movie). This is a belle figure. The real novelties are the figurines of Rey in Jedi apprentice outfit and the Pilot of the Heavy Assault Walker which are very well designed, if we rely on the promotional images of episode VIII. The details on the Pilot’s helmet are correct and the new hairstyle of Rey is well respected. Appreciation of the sera set may be better once the film is released.

The First Order follows in the footsteps of the Empire

Ok, this was the first Star Wars Lego set I did not enjoy building and try not to touch now. 

First of all, I bought this set before the second collection of sets were released. So at the time the minifig selection was amazing and unique. A brand new Poe, Rey, Storm Trooper and Walker Pilot. If only I waited a little longer, I would have found these same figures in sets for only a fraction of the price. 

The legs and skeleton were easy to assemble, are robust and hold together perfectly... however I found this set a challenge to build after the core was built, mainly because pieces all over it kept falling off.

I find that numerous exterior parts want to fall off. Such as the jowel section on the underside of the head, they fall off easily. 
The side panels on the front legs knock off easily. And other small single pieces just drop off. Even after securing them back on, it doesn't last long. 

On the upside this set does look amazing in a static position and the turbo gun works excellently. 
I wouldn't recommend this for the age range suggested as it feel it is too fragile, but for an adult collector this is a great looking display piece.
