I ordered this set immediately because I lost my chance to own an imperial shuttle in the past so this is my first. I would highly recommend it to anyone who don't already own one. It has clean lines, durable to handle when built where my 3 year old daughter runs around with it while pretending to fly it, and stunning to look at when it is displayed on a stand in flight mode. Like everyone else, I wish the chin underneath the cockpit was cleaner and the set included a few more minifigs. A red guard and a stormtrooper would have been nice additions. Otherwise, I love it and display it proudly.

It's been a long time waiting for the day Lego would make another Classic Imperial Shuttle. I just received it. I know all about it. I've seen it online. I've seen it being built by those who have reviewed it and build it live.
Yes it's smaller, no you can't and shouldn't compare it to other shuttles that were made by Lego. 
I'm just happy that Lego finally made another one, midsized, and affordable. I don't own one, 
so should you. Perfect for kids to play with. Perfect for displaying it, Classic Shuttle to behold. My prayers were answered. And now I'm going to take my time building this one. No rush.

Finally A New Imperial Shuttle !!!

A lot of people will argue this sets terrible because it's small and only holds 3 figures. I personally don't care. If you don't own an imperial shuttle this is a nice ship to have. Takes 2 hours to build start to finish. All the figures fit inside the ship. You can recreate some fun Star Wars scenes with this, and you can have Luke fight Vader and the pilot. It feels well put together, it's not gonna break in your hand. I'm sure a kid will have fun playing with it. It looks nice on a shelf with other imperial ships. I recommend if you don't have a shuttle, or if you want to have another for your fleet of shuttles or imperial ships

A pretty cool set

A much better looking model in person -- pics don't do it justice.  It's not perfect, but the scale is impressive: definitely not a small model, but not so big that you can't display it (and it does look good on display!)  As many others have noted, the "chin" is a bit bulky, but can be easily modified to your own taste.  Looks especially good next to most recent TIE fighter and X-wing models.  Wish I was collecting LEGO fifteen years ago so I could have bought the UCS shuttle, but this is a nice alternative, especially for the relatively low cost.  Recommended.

Looks good and inexpensive way to own a shuttle

The imperial shuttle is one of my favourite ships in the Star Wars universe. Sure, it's never destroyed a space station, taken on the Millennium Falcon or floored an AT-ST. But it was used as the personal transport for Emperor Palpatine and numerous other undesirables, normally accompanied by an ominous Imperial March soundtrack, and as such had to be added to my Lego collection.

This Lego kit weighs in at a hefty 660 pieces  and build time is 3-4 hours. There are those that will criticise the repetitiveness of the build as the two wings and tail take up a large proportion of build time as they make up about two thirds of the ship, more then any other Lego model. But these parts don't just look great once finished but are also really important for flying, something critics should dwell on next time they take a commercial fight. 

Once completed the ship not only looks great but offers some of the best playability featuring an opening cockpit, an opening passenger section with space for two minifigures, two stud shooters and the famous wings which move up and down for landing or flight. Not bad at all for what is essentially a passenger ship.

The set includes three minifigures: an Imperial Officer relegated to piloting duties, plus both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker including lightsabers and a set of handcuffs for fans to recreate Luke's capture in Return of the Jedi. It's a nice surprise getting both main Jedi's from the film series although it would be even better and probably more appropriate to get an Emperor Palpatine. 

Overall this is a great set. A challenging build with great detail and a strong selection of minifigures which fans will love to add to their collection.

Imperial Shuttle - an awesome model!

This is a cool set, but it's not perfect. The shaping and color scheme is very consistent and works well. The playability is good and rather expected for a set like this. The access to interior sections is very easy, and works well. The value is pretty good. It is a fairly big ship with a good amount of interior space in it. Although it is a fair value, I do think the price is the biggest issue with this set. Because of the price, there had to be compromises on the build, and it results in areas looking anywhere from great to bad. The worst area is the underside of the cockpit, which is chunky due to the placement of stud shooters, and the structure used to keep the build up. Also with the way the windscreen is built, it feels like there is an unusually large gap between the back of it and the body of the shuttle. The minifigure selection is poor. Only 3 in a set like this just feels wrong, especially since they come in better or cheaper sets. Overall, there are plenty of good elements, but there are some major issues stemming from the low price. If you don't have a version of this vehicle, I'd get it for now, but if you do have other versions, it's better to skip this set.

Good for the price, but not the best for the price

Just finished the Imperial Shuttle and it's not a bad model. I took my time at 3 hours, and it was a good build. The attachment of the wings was tricky but it does go together. Otherwise the build is fun and some great techniques. The folding of the top section to access the interior is well done. I did not like the gaps in the nose that show the black under workings, but as this is a bit cheaper set you get what you pay for. Looks great on display next to my TIE Fighter and overall I say get this set if you don't already have an Imperial Shuttle.

The Emperor Is Not As Forgiving As I Am

I have bought a ton of LEGO Star Wars in my life. This was the first set where I felt totally compelled to modify the ship after it was built. The "chin" (cockpit) is just plain bad. There are huge gaps, and if you display it at eye level you can see right into the cockpit. No control panel for the pilot seems skimpy as well. There are several videos on YouTube where people provide modification tutorials, which itself is a testament that LEGO could have done a lot better (when random people can make design improvements without even adding parts). It took me about an hour and a half to "fix" the problems with this ship, and that just shouldn't be the case. It seems that with the Star Wars ships for this year, LEGO is making some very noticeable corner cuts which is a shame.

Far from LEGO's best.

Thank you LEGO for making another shuttle. I started collecting again in 2018 and it was awesome to not have to buy a retired set.

The fact is, this shuttle is too small. It's hard to imagine a smaller shuttle without going all the way and making it into a micro fighter.

The imperial shuttle deserves more. It's a staple ship in the Star Wars universe. I know it's gotten more in the past, but this set cuts every stylistic corner possible. A few more pieces would have made a big difference. 

Also, a storm trooper minifig or two would have been nice to include. I've been collecting for three years, bought over 20 Star Wars sets and I still don't have just a regular storm trooper. It would have been nice to get one or two in this set.

I still bought this shuttle. A lot of people did. But, I would have paid more for more.

Why so small?

Was very excited to pick up this build and when I opened it I realized bag number 5 was missing?!?!??! My brother bought this set twice and had the same problem so he didn't get it and now it's my first time this is happening. Its not like only one piece is missing so I'm not going to waste the time and go through the parts list one by one to figure out which parts are missing.
