I bought this for our Great Grandson's 7th Birthday and he was delighted with it.  He couldn't wait to get it out of the box and start to build it. He was fascinated by the Super Mario figure and didn't let it out of his sight.

Lego Mario

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fantastic gift for my son as he already owns a super Mario starter course. It was quite easier to build and provided hours of fun to my son. My son could choose his own route from Mario to reach the guarded fortress. There is a free Lego super Mario app available, which helped in constricting and gives a lot of creative ideas. Over all its hours of fun and keeps my son engaged.

Although it takes some time to make a customer character by connecting one by one, it is
fun when finished, and also the nextTo the character...
even the course blocks! My children absolutely love it hours of fun but also adults love it to honestly it's amazing fun and great family time aswell

this is one of the best lego mario expansion sets i know of. i love the koopa troopa. and the bob-omb IS TO DIE FOR. the piranha plant is cool. i like how you can go on the POW block and blow up the door and get 10 coins. i like to put bowser jr up on top of the fort. but i do wish that the mario flag pole gave you coins.

get this expansion set first!

My 6 year old normally can't stay focused on anything for more than a few minutes but this has given me hours of peace!! Really clear instructions and although some parts are a bit tricky to assemble he figured it out quite quickly. Would recommend to any Lego fan young or old!

AMAZING!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has never really been in to playing with lego having preferred to play video games instead. When he got this kit, that changed as he loved being able to build his own mario levels using lego and interacting with it via the app.

Mario interacts with the lego by landing on interactive stickers on some of the pieces, causing him to make the same noises from the video game and even collect coins when jumping on the heads of bad guys.

To play you need to install a free app on your phone which will show you building instructions and allow you to keep tally of your score.

We were very impressed by the expansion and it was fun trying to avoid the bob-bomb and using the catapult to get past the lava.

Everything gels together nicely and the expansion kit seamlessly integrates with the starter pack.

I would definitely recommend this kit, especially for children who enjoy the mario video games

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really nice & my 6 year old loves building it but was bored after a day or two as there's not a lot to do with it, just move the player round it and it beeps and pings at the barcodes. So now it sits in the box on a shelf.

Another fun toy ruined by the need for another device new enough to run the app, an app that won't run on a laptop. Purchased the starter set plus a bunch of sets to surprise the boys for Christmas only to find out that it requires an app on a new enough device to download the instructions. The lack of the instructions was not made clear on the box or the website. I'm typing this annoyed review while they are using my phone to build the castle set and in order to play with the sets together they have to connect Mario to my phone. What happened to allowing them to build independently. This is forcing parents to get devices for children and allow them on the internet, I trust my kids, I don't trust the creeps that use these apps to track or stalk children.
