[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been patiently waiting months to see if a retailer would offer the product for a great sale price. And Walmart did and others have not.

walmart.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you for adding yacht to Technic collection. It's a gift for my son who loves Technic but got bored with options to choose from - usually different type of cars. As a family that spends lots of time in the ocean on our sailboat, this is a perfect fit for my son. He is turning 12 and it should really challenge him to get it in one day !

Perfect as always

influenster.com

This is my second Technic build and my first using pneumatics. Instructions were easy to follow, and the build was challenging enough that I felt as if I was learning a lot. My initial test of the completed pneumatic circuit didn't work, but that was because the control levers were in the central position. Once I moved those, the raising and lowering of the foils worked perfectly.
It's currently displayed sitting on a base plate because I found that turning the crank handles quickly to pump up the pneumatics could tip the boat, so it's more stable on a wider base. My only minor criticism is that it would have been nice if it had printing on both sides of the jib, like the real one. As it is, it can only really be displayed from one side.

Fun on the learning curve

LEGO

[This review was received in response to an offer.] Thanks to the numbered bags it is easy to follow the assembly of the sailboat. The booklet is well done, everything is explained step by step. Each bag corresponds to a part of the yacht There are 962 pieces to mount. It still takes a few hours of editing. The 13- and 16-year-olds put it all together. The sailboat is beautiful. It has a pneumatic function that serves to lift the foils thanks to the cranks.

Beautiful sail boat, 962 pieces, pneumatic function

Hi all,

This Technic set stands out as the most impressive I have assembled in recent times, offering a satisfactory level of challenge. Given its considerable size, it is advisable to plan for an appropriate display space, as it has become a notable highlight within my collection.

For the first time, I utilized the Lego builder app to construct this complex set, which significantly enhanced the building experience. The app's features, such as the ability to zoom and rotate the model, proved invaluable, particularly for deciphering intricate build steps that would have been difficult to interpret using traditional paper instructions.

However, there are a few drawbacks to note. The jib/bow cover sheet arrived bent, resulting in noticeable folds that detract from the overall appearance. Additionally, the Omega name being printed in reverse on the port side is a disappointing oversight in quality control from Lego.

It is recommended to conduct a test of the pneumatics upon completing the second bag of pieces to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

In conclusion, despite a couple of issues, my satisfaction with this set remains high.

What an excellent build.

I'm a fan of the America's Cup, as well as Pete and the rest of the ETNZ crew so when this set was introduced it was a no-brainer purchase. The build was very enjoyable, and while some of the steps were a little challenging (big fingers, small parts?) I don't really have any complaints. I'm still playing with the sail trimming functions and the pneumatic foil cant system despite this being a display set. Still brings a smile to my face seeing the cyclor positions faithfully reproduced.

Rapidly running out of room for my sets; if Lego keeps this up I'm going to have some tough decisions to make!

Absolutely loved this build

John

I am more of an American Cup fan than a Lego fan (I used to be in childhood). This set surprised me a lot & brought sweet memories from my childhood. Highly recommended.

Perfect gift for an American Cup fan

Really loved building this model. As others have mentioned, I never quite got the pneumatics to work, but whatever! It's a great design, and fun to build. I'm a long time sailor and actually know two peoploe who race on the real ones. This model is a great representation and looks really cool when it's finished.

Happy sailing!

I always said that I will never buy from LEGO and the day I discovered the LEGO Technic I said I want to buy them all so I started with the sailboat that I loved and then we will see but my other goal is to build the Titanic. Thanks for this belle discovery.

I will never buy lego...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] super cool set and the pneumatic movement is really cool also. i wish the sails didn't had so many advertising. the building seems weird Anna kind of boring as you don't have a view of the whole until the end but is huge and a great model

I was so excited for this set but it turned into such a disappointment. The pneumatics do not work and it's hard to troubleshoot what the problem truly is. You don't get to fully test the pneumatics until step 89. Step 42 is when you install the first pneumatic (blue) and then you build over top of it so in order to pull that pneumatic back off to try and determine if that one is the problem I have to remove almost 40 steps of pieces that are all locked together. I expected so much more from LEGO.

Pneumatics do not work
