Couldn't find this Lego set in the store so went on line and found it.  Grandson was super excited!

Technic Fire Plane 42040

Excellent toy for building and two in one, very funny and entertainment for kids

Excellent toy

Suggested for children ages 9 - 16, this 578 piece Lego Technic set #42040 includes directions to build both a fire plane and a jet plane. My grandsons like the challenge of building Lego Technic series authentically detailed models with lots of moving parts and they enjoy the versatility of the 2 in 1 build options. Lego Technic = Intricate Model

Brilliant set with very realistic look to it. A great number of pieces for the price and a sturdy build with a few hidden features. Took me over 3 hours to build the thing, but it was late so.... Some quite fiddly assembly bits but not difficult, just fiddly. Very sturdy now built and looks the part. Would suit teenagers more than younger children.

The model looks good completed and is nice to have the moving components making it a little bit more interesting. This was my 9 year old sons first Lego Technics build which he managed with a little help. It was challenging for him but within his capabilities and not too difficult. great instructions, love that this can be either the fire plane or jet. Good all round model and good value for money.

Lego Technic Fire

I wanna say starting out the Fire Plane was a little slow going,but as you progress it gets easier,just like with most LEGO sets,but don't get me wrong I actually like that,so it was a fun little build once you start seeing it come together.

For the stickers sure some are hard to put on,but truth-be-told after the first 3 or 4 it gets a lot easier.The cool features it has like the moving pistons in the engine and the water drop gimmick is fun without it being too goofy.

Price-wise is just downright one of the best parts,at 578 pieces and the cost at $50 retail,that comes out to less than $.10 cents apiece,more like 9 3/4 cents,which very few LEGO sets are below the 10 cent mark.

So my opinion as a whole I would give this set a solid 9.5,only thing stopping it from being a 10 would be a couple of stickers having to be pulled back up and reapplied.Oh and recently I have done started shifting more toward LEGO Technic and Creator purchases cause they seem to be more geared to older builders and collectors and they have a lot more detail in those.Can't wait to see what LEGO does next.Later all.

A Great LEGO Model Build!!!

Bought this for my 9 year old grandson who
is really into legoe.It took him only 4 hours to put together with no mistakes! He loved it and was very proud when he completed it - had to bringit to grammas to show me!

Enjoyed putting this Lego together and it looks real nice. Some moving parts to make it interesting. Just a moderate amount of complexity so could watch TV at the same time. My granddaughter also enjoyed helping me.

Fun to build.
