To Lego:
(1). Thank you for the new pieces!
(2). More ballast please!  Would be a great set for adding alternate instructions for an extended ballast.
(3). Would be great to attach a video of the crane in action to this review... it's alot of fun.
(4). This was the first set in which I found a deformed piece (#6348143). I am not the least bit upset... in fact it felt like finding a golden ticket. It's the first deformed piece out of thousands of thousands of pieces I've seen over 20+ years... that's some incredibly amazing quality control at your factories!

       ------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Reviewers and Raters:
(1). 18+ could be referring to age or years of experience building Lego.  In general, the more expensive the set, the greater the challenge. If you want an easy build with perfect instructions, Duplo is a great place to start.
(2).  If the instructions were perfect, it wouldn't be a challenge.  Completing a challenging set such as this is a very rewarding experience.  Going back steps to see where you missed a piece or getting the string configuration wrong and seeing how the build doesn't work is part of the challenge and increases the satisfaction of completing it. If you don't have patience, then difficult/expert Lego sets are probably not for you.
(3). Most importantly, this is Lego:  if you don't like the instructions (or anything else about the build) then just do your own thing!   The pieces are very versatile and you can do most most anything.  For example, when I completed this set and discovered it couldn't lift the space shuttle, was that time to write a negative review about the crane being too weak?  No!  I saw one of the pictures in the instructions of one of the real world cranes with an extended ballast, so I tried building that and it worked.  I had more fun trying to figure how how to do that than I did with the initial build.
(4). Please note in the picutre: this set does not come with a space shuttle or the pieces for the extended ballast platform shown in the picture.

I like big cranes

LEGO

This Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 proves to be an astounding set that left me utterly impressed, particularly by its sheer size – a true behemoth! The main boom/jib boasts an impressive extension, reaching substantial distances, and effortlessly retracting to its towering height.

The build experience was nothing short of remarkable; I dedicated a couple of afternoons and evenings during a week off from work to assemble this marvel and handful of other sets I purchased on the 1st, also my birthday. The incorporation of new techniques and new components, alongside the integration of all the electronics, as well as the intricate string-threading to enable the amazing functionality, collectively render this Lego set the most operationally versatile one I've ever had the pleasure of constructing and playing with.

The accompanying app has become an almost daily routine now, allowing me to engage in playful interactions, orchestrating intricate movements of the crane across the room, or daringly selecting random items or sets to try hoist with precision.

I actually can't wait to deconstruct it and relish the joy of rebuilding it all over again; I haven't had a feeling like that in many many years, even with all the recent amazing set's I've purchased this past year.

Without a doubt, this stands as my favorite set of the year, hands down!

A Triumph of Engineering

While it doesn't really look like the original with the luffing jib, it has lots of function. I added some steel counterweights and am able to lift a 1kg weight at full extension after adjusting the counterweights and elastics. I would like to unlock the end-points on all 3 lifting motore for personal adjustments and also add about 6 to 8 gantry sections to make this crane a real behemoth.

Liebherr 13000 is pretty darn good

A collection piece for sure and a satisfactory realization. Unfortunately the price is really high at the price/room ratio. As a big machine fan, I am happy. Make room for the presentation.

Top but

One of my all time favorite builds just due to the size and complexity. Some people complained about some of the repetitive items you get to build but overall I loved every minute of it.
Definitely a more advanced build that takes a lot to figure out some of the rigging and placement of parts.
Glad I added this to my collection before it was gone forever.

AWESOMELY BIG (Is that a word)

This set is huge, the features are on par with real Liebherr cranes and the rigging is done similarly as well. It's super satisfying once all completed and I would highly recommend. I understand the price is high, but when you compare to other sets at this price point you'll see that this set is actually capable of moving and functioning under its own power unlike many others.

Love this set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This crane is one of my most favorite sets in my collection! It is pricey, but I have wanted 42146 ever since it came out two years ago. Walmart had it at a price I couldn't pass up! Grab yours before this set retires!

Lego Technic Liebherr Crawler Crane

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] product was having a great discount. walmarts price couldn't be beat.

This build is quite impressive when completed. There are a few spots during the build that require a lot of attention as the instruction photos are a little hard to decipher. I had to backtrack a couple of times but it was worth it. It's amazing to operate all of the functions after completion.

Awesome finished product

I got a good deal on it but full price is kinda steep, very fun to build and it works great lovely display that i totally don't play with constantly

Pretty good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] .. it does not look like the original Liebherr at all.
.. it it way too expensive.

I got this gifted and would never spend so much money on only 2.5k pieces. I feel guilty that my friend spend this much money.

Inflation and all, this is waaaay over the top.

It looks great, but...
