This was a gift to our granson who is a Lego junkie.  He is absolutely delighted with challenge and we are pleased by how much quality time he is investing in assembly of the toy. Our grandson is a past member of the Lego Youth Consultant Team. We presented him the toy as a birthday present. He has two days invested in the toy so without knowedle of who might be receiving this toy, he does not recommend it for a beginner. But, if the gift is intended for another young person that someday will be a scientist or engineer, by all means, Go For It!

Outstandingly Challenging

This is  one of Lego's very best Technical Lego Kits (nearly 300 pieces) which I purchased for my 10 year old grandson's Christmas present.  He was delighted, and we spent many, many happy hours together building this stunning motorised, pneumatic truck with fully working stabilizers, crane, tipping bed and steering.  It is both highly educational and great fun to build and play with.
Most retailers sell this kit at almost twice the price that Walmart do!  What a bargain and delivered to our local store in just 3 days.
I would strongly recommend this kit to any Technic Lego fan (young or old).  I would even more strongly recommend that you purchase it from Walmart!!

Brilliant Kit at a Brilliant Price!

Great item, Walmart's shipping leaves allot to be desired. If you are a collector and care about the box you should look elsewhere.

Great item, poor packing

Been spending some time over weekends with my son building this. He loves it. The parts are solid and it's like a real machine when you start putting it together.

Very well made kit

This was an enjoyable and very involving build. Finished product is impressive and huge. Only negative was the poorly illustrated hydrolic system on the crane and the use of stickers on such a premium product. I would highly recommend.

I've built many sets over the years. This set was awesome! It uses traditional methods of stealing, suspension, and engine piston motion but also combines power motion and pneumatics like I've never seen before.
