This set was fun to build because it utilizes gears, a crank shaft, and worm gears to simulate the SLS launching Orion into Space. I think it's very cool to see the motion of the boosters separating the main engine and then watching Orion separate from the main engine.

The timing of this set release was spot on given the up incoming Artemis II mission.

I do a lot of out reach work in schools educating young students about space and astronomy. This SLS model is excellent because not only does it accurately portray the SLS but demonstrates its launch sequence in an accurate and fun way that engages the students.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just traveled to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida to see the Artemis II rocket on the launchpad for myself, so I was really excited to receive this LEGO Technic Space NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket. It has 632 pieces, ensuring a satisfying build time, and it makes for a great display piece once you're finished building it. What's unique about this set is it actually has some mechanical functionality—something a lot of LEGO fans have been asking to see more of in sets. When you turn the crank on the side, the boosters separate from the rocket and you can visualize the rocket in multiple stages. VERY cool!!! As an engineer and space enthusiast, I'm floored by this LEGO set and love the design! The little astronaut LEGO figures are really neat, too. I've already purchase two more of this particular Technic set to give as gifts to my nerdy friends for their birthdays because the price is great!

Love this LEGO set—it's history in the making!

Lego Technic SLS is a super fun set and looks amazing! Build took about 3hrs (while watching shows though). As someone who owns nearly every Lego NASA Lego set, this set did not disappoint! Planning to motorize it and hook it up to an arduino to make it into a clock and have it “launch” on the hour!

TECHNIC SLS

This set looked cool before I even purchased it. I started building it and it was one of the most joyful builds I've ever built. Learning how the functions work as you build is awesome and could be used to show children how rocket stages work. I now run it through it's stages a few times a day, so fun!
