We have a large open bottom floor in our home, and it definitely has the ability to cool it. Energy efficient and multiple settings for fan speed. Convenient remote control. Obviously, an in the wall mounted air conditioner isn't for everyone, but i love the idea of not having a window blocked and no large unit sitting on my floor for a portable air conditioner. Great option from a trusted brand.

It does come with a remote which is a nice added bonus. Instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. I cannot wait to get some use out of this in the warmer months. The air comes out so cold.

Cool air

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This LG 9800 btu air conditioner is very powerful! It has a lot of settings on it from fan, to low cold to high cold. The remote is very operational and convenient as well. It is a little bit difficult to install by yourself because it is big and bulky. But with two people it installs quite easily. Its powerful enough to cool down about 600 sq ft of space in my house, so it definitely cools more than its rated to in my opinion.

Big and mighty air conditioner!

This room air conditioner by far is something I enjoy now coming home. It keeps my very chill feeling like by home. It was easy to install on the window, and the remote controls are easy to use. Overall, I'd say this is the model I'd recommend to everyone! It's great and efficient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This LG through-the-wall AC was a big upgrade for my home, and just in time for summer! It cools my bedroom evenly, which I usually have trouble with when using AC units. It's definitely not completely silent, but it is notably quieter than any window unit I've had over the years. The settings give me plenty of control to adjust the airflow and speed, and I love having a remote. Though, I tend to expect these features on modern units and at this price point.

It arrived with wear and tear on the box due to the weight, but the actual unit was thankfully packed well and in perfect condition. BE SURE to read the instructions thoroughly before attempting to install! Determining the placement and what was involved was SO important. Especially since the unit is around 80 pounds! Installation was no small task and there wasn't much room for error at that weight. It took two of us to get it set up properly. Then we had to learn how to operate it! I really like the energy saving features and the 24 hour timer. The trim gives it a sleek look, but honestly doesn't feel super durable long-term. 

However, the unit itself is solid and well built. It has been such a great improvement for the comfort of the space and seems like it will hold up a long time. I'm really glad I went with this model, and relieved that I checked measurements before selecting it! I did receive this product to try in exchange for my honest review.

Energy efficient and reliable. Read manual before

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It quickly cools room and runs quieter than a window unit.  It is well built and the unit was very heavy.  It saves space and don't block the window.  The installation was not as easy as a window unit.  This unit also includes a remote.

The LG through the wall unit is well built

We bought this to replace a very old wall air conditioner. The first one that was shipped to me was damaged so badly in shipping that it would not work. The second works fine - cools well - relatively quiet - controls easy to work. However this one was also damaged in transit - the catches for the filter cover were all broken when unpacked. At this point I can tolerate no further delays so we will use as is and hold the cover shut with tape.

Works well but some parts not very durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this LG air conditioner to replace an old one from another manufacturer.  While the listing indicates that it fits most 26" wall sleeves, I knew the existing sleeve was too deteriorated to use, so I bought a new LG sleeve.  The instructions for the sleeve were really unclear about whether you should leave any part of the sleeve exposed on the inside.  The picture indicated that you should leave a little exposed, but when I first put the a/c unit it, it was clear that the bezel that came with the unit fits up against the sleeve, which meant that it was not against the wall.  I re-installed the sleeve flush with the inside wall.

Then, the instructions with the a/c unit indicated to put the supplied foam adhesive strips all around the inside of the sleeve, plus use a pair of harder foam strips on the bottom to supply the correct pitch so the unit drips to the rear.  Pushing in a unit of this weight pretty well destroyed all the foam, even though it was glued to the walls and floor of the sleeve.  Plus, even though it is important to have a snug fit, there is no way that this unit fits inside the sleeve with all that foam around it.  I had to cut the foam down and it was still nearly impossible to shove the unit past the foam.

The sleeve instructions did not give any indication of how to frame the hole, so I did the best I could.  Also, there are not holes in the sleeve to screw it into the framing, so I had to drill holes in the sleeve to secure it in my wall.

The panels that came with the sleeve did not line up with the screw holes in the sleeve, especially the rear aluminum vented panel.  Also, no indication if the panels attach from the inside or the outside of the sleeve.

I'm sure the a/c unit will be fine, but the instructions to use it with the sleeve from the same manufacturer are nearly useless.  Very poor compatibility between the unit and the wall sleeve that is made for it.

I had to return it for being defective; it was blowing cold air but at the same time, the unit was getting so hot, not only that it defeats the purpose, but I was afraid it was going to catch fire.
