Unit has only been here and installed for five days. So far so good. Cooling my kitchen, a little less than 300 ft.². Seems to be doing a great job. Energy saver option works well and is very quiet! I bought this for the bedroom we sleep in , and it keeps it freezing in there, which is nice after working in a shop that's 110 degrees all day. It's a quality product like all the products lg makes . They usually never disappoint me. It paired with a lg 8000 btu on the other end of the house. Both cool the whole house that's 1000 square feet.

Quality product

Our old Zenith AC in our 2011 Aliner camper died on our last trip.  It took us several hours of research on several days to find one that would fit in the place cut out in the side wall that the old one came out of. This LG model was almost perfect! My husband did a few mods like cutting the "feet" off of it and was able to use the old metal bracket to set it back up in the same place. A little caulking and drilling some extra holes for rivets and the unit fit right in the space. Controls and vents above the cabinet and the inside cabinet is still useful for supplies. We couldn't have chosen better! Cold air was down to 65 within 30 minutes after we set the temperature where we wanted it. It also has movable vents, remote control and temperature window. Good cool air, reasonable fan noise, price and shipping. We are thrilled with our easier than we thought installation!

Cool Air Again for our Small Camping Trailer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit about a month ago, when my central air went out. It is summertime in the deep south, so no air means there will be suffering. However, I toughed it out long enough to put the unit together and install it. My living room was 92 degrees when I turned on the air conditioning so I didn't expect much relief right away. After about 90 minutes at 60 degrees it cooled the room down and by the next day I had to raise the temperature because I was freezing. This unit exceeded my expectations,  and now keeps the living room and kitchen livable until the ac repair folks can get here. I am an old woman on disability, and this was my first installation of anything since my husband died. The weight of the product was a bit much, but this old bird got through it and I'm a cool granny now.

Exactly what I needed

The LG LW6017R (6000 BTU with Remote) is a marvelous window air conditioner! This product arrived less than 48 hours after I ordered it. I'm a 5 foot tall woman in my 60s, and I had no problems lifting, assembling, or installing the unit. Assembly took maybe 20 minutes, but to be honest, I skipped the last few steps which were for the window frame and, as far as I'm concerned, were not necessary for my use. As soon as assembly was finished, I put the unit on the window sill, screwed the curtain panels to the window, plugged it in, turned it on, and enjoyed the quickly cooled air. The bedroom in which I'm using it is 12x13, and this air conditioner cools that room in no more than 15 minutes if that. It's powerful but quiet, and the remote is super easy to use. The main reason I chose this LG is that it's almost exactly the same as the Goldstar air conditioner my mother and I purchased from Walmart in 2004; the only differences are the brand and the Goldstar is 5000 BTU. The Goldstar is still working and easily cools the front of the house which is an open concept living room and kitchen. But in other words, the LG 6000 BTU could easily cool bigger rooms, and if it's the same as the Goldstar, it should last for years! Anyway, I'm extremely pleased with this marvelous LG air conditioner, and I highly recommend it!

Marvelous air conditioner!

Didn't really get to use this unit but a couple of weeks before having to turn it off because the weather changed.

I like the remote, as it's hard to get to the unit in my room.

I don't like the vents, they blow up and I prefer for them to blow out into the room, from the front of the unit.

The LG air condioner itself meets my expectations.  What I disliked was the way it was packaged and FedEx's handling of the unit delivering it with the box all caved in along one edge where it was apparently dropped.  The pictures below are of the damaged a/c as received.  I am too busy to go thru the hassle of having to return it and wait for another repacement to be delivered and possibly be also trashed.
The a/c works well and is quiet which is what I wanted.

This is compact window air conditioner
 That is, probably, the only advantage. It is very hard to find conditioner in the 5000 -6000 btu range that will fit the size where this one fits. I bought it just because of that. It is noisy for bedroom.
The direction of air flow is not possible to move up or down. Only left ot right. Display is too small. Remote is a plus. But you don't see what is happening after you punched this or that button. It is blind.
For the price of $330 I paid for it you can find much better and library-quiet AC for your bedroom, if your window is large enough. 
Do not go for the small size, if you can fit large (and better one) AC.

Pricey but cheap functionality

I purchased this LG 6,000 BTU for my bedroom, especially for sleeping, reason why i went with LG is because i always had great products from them, especially my older 8,000 BTU Air Conditioner which is almost 15 years old and still working great, it never skipped a beat, no issues whatsoever, So when i installed the new 6,000 BTU Air Conditioner other day, i was shocked at how loud it is, especially all the shaking and vibrations, that's my biggest issue with it, cause it was bought for sleeping, and i tried couple times sleeping with it on and it can't be done, it's just too loud. Only other thing i didn't like about it, but i kinda knew is the 2 way only air deflectors, can only adjust left or right, there's no up and down, air just basically blows out upwards at about a 45° angle, i knew about that when i was researching it before i bought, thought it wouldn't bother me, but isn't such a great design. The unit does blow cold, definitely cools down my large bedroom, but the noise is unbearable, the humming, the vibrating, and the compressor kicking on and off, it was bought for sleeping, but not gonna work.  I'm gonna try LG one more time, just ordered LW1024RD a 10,000 BTU unit, that i should have tomorrow, that's gonna go in my living room now, and my trusty LW8011ER 8,000 BTU unit that's almost 15 years old, is gonna be my bedroom A/C unit now,and is so much quieter than the 6,000 BTU unit I'm writing this review on, hopefully my new 10,000 BTU A/C performs as good as my older 8,000 BTU A/C, if it does, I'll be much happier.

Cools good, but Very Loud !

I like the design of the unit (window fit and ease of installation) and the controls, which are straight forward. However, there are 2 things that drive me crazy. The unit goes on and off constantly! On the eco setting it runs for a couple of minutes, shuts down and restarts about 5 minutes later. On the continuos fan mode the compressor cycles on and off every few minutes. The other problem is that these units are LOUD. I bought 2 of them, so it's not a defect, it's a design flaw. Definitly not good for a bedroom which is where I have them.
