great price, slight hum, but quiet, bad design when trying to screw side blinds to side of air conditioner, holes are there and it lines up with blind, but its on the inside fold of the blind to screw it with screw, also fortunately I had extra longer same size screws and used mine, what they provided was to short........that was my only troubleshoot, once in and powered up, works like a charm. wife is happy

Our air conditioner  sits in an over-garage bonus room window. The ceiling isn't insulated well enough, and this air conditioner is the sole reason the room is usable from April to November. It looks good, has all the features we need, and cools efficiently. My only small complaint is that I wish it came with some sort of plastic strap around the unit itself; getting it out of the box is a major job for two (elderly) people.

Good for hot rooms

I live in a large studio and this AC 8,000 BTU is just the rest size, I use the energy saver button. My neighbor set it up for me in about 10 minutes. I can either use the remote or use it manually, I like manually, getting off the sofa and walk over it too.. it cane just in time  for our heat wave!  Thank goodness for cool air. 
Great value for a great AC!

Great Air Conditioner

8000 BTUs is perfect for my huge bedroom. Replaced 5000 BTU unit which couldn't keep up with 90  degree sunny days. Quiet, relatively speaking.Lighter weight than the 10K monster I have in my open concept downstairs.  In my experience, LG products are impressive performers at reasonable price point. Highly recommended.

Perfect performer

We needed a window for a small office/guest room unattached to our house. Rather than do full central air for such a small room we bought this window unit.  It was an excellent choice.  Cools immediately and efficiently. Has energy saving features that automatically adjusts and controls the cooling system from running all day.

Excellent Product!

I bought this particular unit because I had a specific hole in the wall I needed to fit an a/c in and this seemed closest to the size (which was actually difficult to find in a/c units as most run a few inches larger.) So the good news is that it fit. The bad news is that it is too loud for my liking. I can't hear anything outside my bedroom even if the door is open when this unit is blowing.

Too Loud

This works fine... but I took out a 6000 BTU Artic King that was 11 years old... and it blew stronger and colder.... I had to go from 6000 to 8000 BTU just to keep room cool.... and its 120 square foot... very small room... It works...but I liked my old one better......sometimes new isn't better.... its just newer....

They Don't Make them like they use to...

Was in a bind when the window unit in our bedroom failed during a recent heat wave.  Could find nothing but junk in stock at the local stores, so ordered this from  walmart.com.  Delivery to store was one day faster than promised, so that was a plus.  Installation was a snap.  A little heavier than the old unit, but still light enough for one person to pick it up and slide it into the window.  Was a little louder than I'd hoped, but still tolerable.  This unit has an "energy saver" feature, which shuts off the fan when the compressor stops.  I thought this would be a nice feature, but I seldom use it since the regular cycling of the fan tends to keep me awake at night.  

All-in-all, this is a nice unit with all the features one would ever need in a small window A/C.  Also, the unit has an EER of 12.1, which makes it by far the most efficient unit I ran across while shopping for a replacement A/C.

LG LW8016ER Air Conditioner

Love my new Air conditioner! Does a great job of cooling off my rooms and cools quickly. Only 4 stars because it is on the noisy side.  Also, I ordered this online with free store pick-up. It was available the day I was told and the pick up at the store was easy breezy!!

Keeping me cool!

Works great except that it's never gotten all the way down to 60. Typically it keeps the room about 63 according to my thermometers.
I mounted it at a slightly higher angle downward so the water would't splash onto the fan ring which would have driven me nuts, but I don't think that's the issue, the compressor stops when it "thinks" it's at 60 but it's not. It pretty much stops compressing when the room gets to about 63. Still far better than the other one I had from GE which would only get to 66 then shoot down to 62 and slowly warm back up. The service tech said that was within specs. Unreal! PS: My room is under the sq ft of what the unit is supposed to cool with no interference from anything.

Great A/C but no 60

This was the second air conditioning unit I bought from Walmart that straight out of the box didn't work installed it turned it on and all he could hear was the fan grinding against the condescencer returned it bought the next model higher from Home Depot and absolutely love it

Won't buy air conditioners from Walmart anymore
