We bought the wall mount version and it hasn't disappointed, absolutely flush mount to the wall, easy to install the TV mounting bracket and very clean looking. It was very easy to set up and the ThinQ app works fantastically. The picture is incredible, and the sound is good too even without a soundbar. Excellent.

Fantastic LG OLED 55" Gallery TV

The OLED65G4 TV is the best you find out there! If you game, watch telly, or its for your cinema room this is it! 

 Let's start with the stand which is included this year, as for last year's G3 didn't come with this option and a couple of users complained so there you go LG listen to you, and now you have it.

 I personally ordered the wall mount TV option. As per the TV name G3 - "Gallery design" this TV its meant to be on the wall. I love the design, its slim, bezeless, and with the aluminium frame looks brilliant!

The TV it was delivered carefully by 2 man and as usual LG packed up the TV properly to avoid damaging. Just make sure you have someone to give you a hand when unpacking, because its quite heavy. 

The overall improvements from last year's model are the AI picture quality, AI sound pro, brightness, the MLA booster max gen2 tells you all the difference. The native refresh rate to 120hz, PC gaming 144hz, chromecast built in, the a11 processor which helps navigate through apps much faster and the most important is introducing Filmmaker to Dolby Vision which truly gives you the cinematic experience! Now, you can have MLA panel on 83 inch too, I wish I could afford a 77 inch though or it was part of the campaign!

 On the other hand there are minuses of this TV which I hope LG will add in the near future. 

 The power cord attached to TV still, you cannot run cable through walls or makes it really difficult, the MagicRemote LG made 10 years ago no improvements, bulky, noisy and no alternatives to buy a premium one from LG. The video issues with HDMI 2 port which its a shame, as LG QA team didn't notice it, but hopfully a WebOS update will sort it. The ethernet port only 10/100mbps, and the USB ports are just 2.0 though. I'm expecting 3.0 USB port, new premium backlight remote and potentially 1gbps ethernet ports for next year's G5, fingers crossed LG hear us out!

 This G4 TV even with the minuses mentioned its still a great TV, the picture quality its speechless and stunning from every angle! I recommend it to everyone who is after a Gallery design TV with excellent features and its worth the investment!

OLED65G4 - "Da Best 'n town" 2024

Having upgraded from the LG 65” OLED G3 the look and physical dimensions are exactly the same including the wall mount bracket I thought that there would be only a slight improvement boy was I wrong. From the ease of installation, a simple 5 min clip off the old and install the new a complementary free install offered by LG as part of the package the new alpha 11 processor makes quite a noticeable difference in the display processing in the standard tv mode and amazing in gaming mode on both the PlayStation and Xbox. Even during the peak of the day with the sun flooding the room the tv in full brightness mode the quality and brightness is outstanding.

The masterpiece that exceeds all expectations

The picture is great and even friends have commented what great colours and details it shows. We also bought the soundbar too and again it's great. Need to get my head round setting this up as not not the best at this sort of thing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OLED65G45LW IS An excellent TV. The picture is fantastic, the built in apps work well and it is customizable. My wife initially thought 65 inches would be too big, but now she really loves it. As she often says...size really does matter! The only frustrating issue I have with it is to do with the sound and this is why I haven't given it 5 stars. From the moment I set the TV up I had problems getting the TV to link properly through the hdmi arc with my Yamaha   RXV-683 7.1 amplifier. When it is connected the peripherals connected by hdmi to the amp work perfectly. However, when you switch to the TV there is no sound until I go back into the settings and go through the Amp set up again. THIS ALMOST MADE ME WANT TO RETURN THE TV. After many hours of trying to get the sound to work with my amp when set to Tv I decided to return to using my Fire Tv through the amp rather than the built in apps....which is not ideal. Nice picture shame about the sound setup!

The screen is a huge leap in progress from my old 1080p back lit led panel. Out of the box, the standard/default settings were not usable for shows such as FBI. The brightness and contrast settings needed change so as to see enough detail in the faces of black actors. I seem at the moment to have found a working setting I can live with. It would be useful to have an in built "test card" or gray scale that allowed settings to be derived with more confidence, particularly moving to an OLED panel where extremes are much wider.
My old TV I played through my amplifier, connected through left and right channel copper cables. This facility i wanted to upgrade as the old method picked up mains hum. At the time of changing to the OLED TV I also purchased a new amplifier and so looked at how I might connect to it. The optical (Toslink) signal out from tge Tv seemed the way to go as the amplifier had an optical signal in to the DAC. I relished the thought of excellent sound.  Tge signal was picked up by tgev amplifier and sound seemed sorted. That was until we could hear the sound falter, it seemed to lower in volume, very briefly and not with predictable time intervals. I had two brands of optical cable and the stutter I heard was tgd sane with both. To rule out the amplifier I connected an old Xbox one to the TV as this had an optical out itself. The audio was faultless, ruling out both a problem with the amplifier and the cable.
I might add that tgevamplifier also displays the frequency of the connection when the optical cable is connected.  Mist tines even during the stutter this display stayed constant. Then very intermittently the frequency value would disappear very briefly.
I have no other conclusion that the problem resides with tge LG TV. However this is not an isolated case as I have read about it on an AvForum.

This problem seems to exist, but not every G4! The suggestions made in the forum I have tried and to no avail. It still stutters. The only reason I haven't sent it back is that I can use the Blutooth connection to my amplifier.
Again this has issues, the TV recognised I would try and connect to my amplifier via the Wireless speaker option and so offered to always connect as a default. Although I have chosen this option it does not do this all the time, subsequently I have to go into settings and manually connect the  amplifier to the TV. I ensure the amplifier is switched on first and set to the Blutooth mode so that the Tv can identify it and make the connection automatically.  When it does, the process is smooth and faultless. When it doesn't it is frustrating. I haven't yet managed to find an option that allows me to reaffirm my default connection to the amplifier via Blutooth.

These are the reasons for only awarding a very promising Tv 3 stars.

Frustrations and excellence.

Was very happy initially. Brilliant picture and anti glare really works. After a power cut initially it was though that the sound bar had failed.Replaced, but turned out the TV was faulty,and refused to detect the sound bar. LG were helpful, but recommending I connect using a UPS is not really acceptable, especially when all my electronics are connected using Belkin surge protector. Now waiting for TV to be changed. My last LG TV never faulted. Hopefully new set is better.
