Our house liked this a lot when we first got it, the only flaw was that the lid didn't open all the way when pushing the button. It's a bit louder than we would like but functioned well. However, after about 2 months it just stopped working when plugged in. We've tried it in multiple outlets  and it still doesn't work. Unfortunate but I can't recommend you buy this kettle.
