The display is so attractive, being colored LCD, it would make a nice desk clock.   It offers info besides time: Day, Temperature and Humidity.  However, the clock must be viewed from an upper angle - if the clock is above your eye level, you will have difficulty reading it.  If you are concerned about the display brightness keeping you awake, I don't think that will be an issue - it's backlit LCD and not a bright LED.  By pressing the wide snooze button, you can cycle through three brightness levels as well as turn it off - SO BEWARE, if you think your clock is broke, press the snooze button and it will come back on.  (Pressing any other button will also turn it on, but only for about 5 seconds.)

I bought this Lacrosse clock for it's projection capability.  The LED projector is on all the time, even if you press it closed.  However, you can turn it off as well as cycle through three brightness levels, by pressing a button next to it.  (Note that this capability is separate from the main clock display i.e. you could turn the projector on bright and the display on low or off if you desire.)  This button has a second use - If you hold the button down for a second or two, the display on your ceiling is rotated 90-degrees, so no matter which way the clock's display is facing, you can adjust the projection so that you can read it regardless of what direction you are laying in.  (I assume most people want this clock because they are near-sighted and wish to see the time from bed.)  The projector itself can be tilted in one plane.

The LED projector beam is bright enough to work at least 20' away in a dark room.  I have the clock sitting about 3' off the ground and projecting onto a 8' ceiling.  I have it at it's highest brightness setting, but I can't read it if the room is bright.  Most importantly, the projected display is large enough on my ceiling so that I can read it without glasses when lying down!  Obviousl, the further the clock is from the ceiling, the larger the display gets.

This clock comes with an AC adapter so that you can plug it straight into an outlet.  I noticed other projection clocks relied on you providing a USB adapter.

I found the clock easy and intuitive to set.  

Put 2 AAA batteries in it and it will remember the time in case you unplug it or your power goes out.

The company selling this was very responsive and fast.

I did not test it's ability to recharge devices through the port that is provided, or how well the alarm clock works, but I did notice that you can adjust the minutes for the snooze feature and there is a Nap Timer as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My clock just stopped sounding recently, and I really want another backup alarm for when I have to get up early in the morning for work. My current clock is mechanical analog, and due to that, I believe that it may be a mechanical breakdown or wear and tear causing it to no longer produce sounds... There's still battery and the clock still runs, but the flipswitch just no longer sets the alarm. So, I want to change to a digital clock now, it will take a little getting used to, but honestly probably easier to than analog since so many people have trouble telling time, especially if they're sleepy. I'm also excited about this digital alarm so that I no longer have to rely on 1. my memory to flip a mechanical flipswitch to set the alarm every day, and 2. durability of a switch flipping up and down every day, help me get up in the mornings.
This clock is pretty high tech. It looks like black block digital alarm clock that you see in hotel rooms, but this is infinitely cooler as it projects, like this came out of a Star Wars hologram scene. Even better, it has USB charging port, rather than an actual iphone charger end, so you can charge your phone, your tablet, regardless of brand and era (within the last decade, at any rate). I imagine teens and young adults alike will like this alarm clock since it's so versatile -- would be a good gift for friends that are always late, too...

My husband want a new clock to replace an old. He wanted it to project the time on the ceiling. I looked for one online saw this one, didn't realize how small this clock. He was satisfied with it because the projector didn't show the time on the ceiling. We have lacrosse weather station and love but this doesn't seem like they products.

The projection clock worked but the front panel didn't light up and the control for the front panel brightness didn't work. I returned the unit.
