I usually do not review products but La Base Pro Primer is a game changer. I was trying to track down a Lancome primer product my mother used well into her 90's (but still still looked 70) which was no longer made and I stumbled on this. I love the way it feels and it makes foundation easy to put on. (I use less foundation because it is distributed so easily after La Base.) I even use it on days that I don't wear foundation because it makes my skin feel so incredibly soft and minimizes the wrinkles, which says a lot as I am in my late 60's and had been considering a facelift. My 30 year old daughter noticed the difference and she has begun using it!

This product creates a wonderful base for any make-up I apply on top of it. It creates a thin layer on top of all my moisturizers, and sort of seals them, serving as a barrier between skin care products and makeup. And it doesn't mean that it suffocates my skin, it doesn't. It adds mate glow to it. I use it daily, applying in the morning, and wash it off at night. Works beautifully for me.

La Base Pro Face & Makeup Primer

I have been using this primer for years. I have tried others, but always go back to La Base Pro because it works better than all of the others.  I smooths out minor flaws and helps my make up stay put.

The Best Primer

Great product bad packaging!

I would give this a 5 star rating accept for the tube in bottle falls out when there is a good quarter of the product left.  Very annoying.

Poor applicator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Surprisingly it does work! I have fine lines and crows feet. I put it on and then my foundation and the difference was amazing. Make-up glides on and those lines are MUCH less noticeable.

It Works!

I am 49 years young:) My skin is sensitive with problems like redness, fine lines and wrinkles, KP and combo dry and oily.  I have been using IT products for about a year now.  While I liked them, my foundation was STILL settling into those wrinkles in my forehead and under my chin.  Especially on hot sweaty days! Ugh… I saw this and decided to try.  Am I so HAPPY THAT I DID!!  So.. 1) It instantly blurs all of those trouble areas. And I do mean INSTANTLY!!  2) It feels like a drink of water for my skin! No drying effect.  Even all day!! I have been able to cut out my moisturizing step completely with this product!  Which I always did before primer.  3) Sets almost instantly, but I still like to wait a few minutes before applying foundation. 
 While I absolutely love this primer, the reason I gave it a 4 star rating is because I do not believe in an absolutely flawless 100% STAY ALL DAY product.  They just don't exist.  No matter what they say.  We sweat. We touch. We eat and drink. We have oil.  Let's face it, life just happens.  So this does require that I do what I call a “brush tap” sometime in the afternoons in those deep wrinkle areas like my forehead and under my chin, BUT WAY BETTER than my IT products.  I AM HAPPY with this product.. And I Believe the CLOSEST TO PERFECTION to any other out there!  TRUST ME!

First time and FOREVER customer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderful product. It glides on smoothly and  is the perfect base to be able to apply foundation over.  With mature skin there is a chance of foundation enhancing wrinkles. La Base does not allow this to occur. This is the perfect product ?

La Base is a life saver for mature skin

This is a great primer.  I used to use the Bare Minerals face primer, but it kept being out of stock, so I happened upon this one and it's very similar.  It's a tad thicker than BM, but once I figured out to use less, it worked well for me. I just use a tiny bit before applying my foundation and I actually like it better than the BM.  It's silky feeling, doesn't make me feel oily and blends well with my foundation! My only complaint is packaging.  It's hard to get all of it out with the narrow pump, so I feel like there's still a good amount that gets left in the tube that I can't get to before I have to reorder. That is frustrating, but other than that, I'm happy I discovered it!

I have purchased this primer several times and although the primer does work well under my makeup and gives a long lasting finish, the dispensing tube has come off every one of them.
After the tube comes off, I have to try to get the primer out manually which results in a lot of the product left in the bottle that I am unable to use.  Lancome needs to develop a better way to dispense this product.  I am not going to purchase again even though I like the product.  It is too expensive not to be able to use all of it.
