[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compact, takes up a small amount of space, hs several settings, the LASKO brand speaks for itself.  Walmart had the price point I was looking for.  Their competitor was more expensive.  I live on a tight budget so this was helpful.

Made good, pull out of the box ready and feel a little safer with running this type of space heater compared to other types with animals in the house in case they bump into it.

easy to use heater that doesn't take long to heat my room and keep it warm (I have a small studio apartment)

I have always trusted Lasko. I live in an RV trailer near Houston, Texas. This heater heats up the trailer slowly, so I crank up the propane heater at first. When the temperature is just right, I switch to the Lasko which does a good job of maintaining the temperature in most conditions. Of course, in extremely cold weather I have to rely on the propane heater. I cannot use a more powerful electric heater because of power limits in the trailer.

Works Well Enough for Me

This heater does NOT automatically turn off if it gets tipped over.
I never noticed that before I purchased it - I just thought that now days, the auto turn off when tipped over was standard on all portable electric space heaters........kinda like seat belts are now in all cars.
So if you have small kids or clumsy pets, this could be a potential safety issue for you.  Something you should be aware of.

Aside from that issue - I really do like this small heater vs. the larger tower sizes. This one keeps the heat close to the floor. So if cold floors are a problem for you, and the potential safety issues does not bother you, then I think you will like this heater. But if you are trying to heat an area - then this will not work for you.

NO  " Tip over " Turn Off Switch

It doesn't have the safety for auto shutoff if it gets knocked over. So to myself, that's a HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. It also doesn't shut off with the thermostat.  Other than that, it's okay.  Keeps us from freezing to death in this 12x12 room. WOULD LOVE INFORMATION ON CLEANING THE FILTER PLEASE!!!!

The lights flash the entire time on certain settings. They are super bright. I use this in my bedroom and have to cover the entire panel on top in order to sleep. I get having lights but seriously? It's like Clark Griswold's Christmas lights. Ridiculous!

I plugged it in and it started smoking right away. i assumed it was just because it was new, smelled like some heater  things do when you first use them. After less than 5 mins it shut itself off. red power light is still on but it won't turn back on. 20 mins later - still won't turn on. I'll be returning.

Quit after <5 mins

after only have used it a couple of time it now doesn't work if your luck to get it to turn on it will run for less then 5 mins and then shuts down and won't start back up you have to unplug it let it set the. start all over this is not safe so it's a piece of money waste that I couldn't afford to waste
