I've just assembled this item, and I was delighted to see it does not suffer the same assembly challenge as a 2-tier version I reviewed recently.  I didn't notice that the 3-tier was a different brand until I found the legs needed only minimal persuasion to fit between the shelf slats.  And this one came with screws too!  The pictured instructions = no drill.  Still, I know from experience that a very narrow piece of wood will crack if you put screws into it without pre-drilling, hence I ignored that instruction, although I drilled with great caution, and only slightly into the wood without existing holes.  The last 2 screws I did try without drilling, just to see what would happen.  They did go in without damaging the wood, but I kept a light hand on the driver so I could stop at the slightest splitting sound.  The screws seem long, but they taper to narrow ends. The 3-tier also comes with 2 narrow cross bars that form an X between the bottom and middle shelves. I didn't drill for these screws either, but I did hear some resistance in the wood as I installed the shorter screws.  It took me about 10 minutes at most to assemble by myself.  Tip:  holes on one side of each leg are slightly countersunk so the screw heads will be flush with the wood.  I didn't notice this with the first leg and had to re-do.  It's easy to miss, do make a point of getting it right the first time.
Not the strongest shelf you can buy, but I think it will suffice for my purpose, which does not include heavy items.  It does not have a finish, just raw wood that could probably stand a little sanding here and there.  If it does snag me, or snag anything else, then I will sand it, but I can live with it as is for now.  If you want to seal it, I recommend shellac, which is non-toxic, food safe, and even approved for children's toys. (The only finish Ive used for years). Once the alcohol evaporates there is no residual odor.  If you want color, use amber shellac (there are other colors, but they will cost more, and will not be available locally.) 
I recommend this unit as a substitute for the 2 tier with legs that do not fit the slats.  Costs a little more, but you get 3 shelves, and it's so much easier to assemble!

Combined with the low price and ease of assembly, in spite of the horrible instructions, this is a great little shoe rack that easily holds 12 or more pairs of shoes. I would definitely purchase again!

Nice rack!

I have moved in with ill parents and have a small bedroom with no closet space I had been just piling my shoes in the space I put the shoe rack. The shoe rack was easy to put together I did it myself, it fits perfect in the space and makes my room feel like it has more space.

looks great, easy to assembly but the wood is cheap and fragile, easy to damage during assembly. unit was advertised to hold 9 pairs of shoes but only holds six at best. false advertisement.

Very cheap. But so was the price. It will serve its purpose for the year or so I need it. All parts and instructions were included. Took me maybe 5 minutes to build. Shipping was a little slow but not horrible.

This product is very easy to assemble, however keep in mind the price, the shelves are not  very strong so if child was to try and stand on it it could break. I think look's are a matter of opinion. I think they are fine, just for shoes. The shoes do stay on the rack unlike some other ones where they tend to slide off. For the price the racks are fine.

Is not made of light oak, very flimsy. Do not use in a home with kids or large animals.

Poor quality ! This is way cheaper in person! No holes to screw nails in so you have to estimate where's the middle so you don't screw it up. AND there was a knot where a screw was suppose to go making it impossible to screw in -_-
