I purchased 2 LeapPad 3's for 2 of my grandchildren last Christmas.  They loved it,  so I purchased a 3rd one for our 6 year old grandson this year.  They are all home schooled and their parents are really excited because now all 3 of them (ages 6, 7, and 8 respectively) can work together using the LeapPad 3.  They use it for not only school, but also for fun and entertainment.   I might add - when I asked the 6 year old what he wanted for Christmas this year, he replied, "a leap pad 3 because my brother has to share his with me and I want one of my own." 
It is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who has young children and want to see them have fun learning.

Leap Frog LeapPad 3

I ordered this for my grand-daughter for Christmas. Shipping was fast. Product was packaged well. I like the fact that it has a parental control on this. It has learning games as well. The price was very reasonable. Looking forward to see her response on Christmas.

Happy with this puchase

I bought this for my grandson. He was the last of four to receive one. the added feature of not having to use batteries is great. Our first granddaughter has the old one that you have to use batteries. She never has enough.

Great for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Leap Pad 3 for my 6 year old daughter and she loves it she has had it for less than a week and she knows how to work it like a pro :).
Tablet comes with pre-loaded apps which is really great.

Set-up: The set-up process is very easy took less than 5 minutes ad it was ready to go.
Wi-Fi: easy to access Wi-Fi the web search is super kid safe and also mostly educational things.
Music: comes with music already downloaded from Leapfrog you can also download your own music (MP3 format) also has a headphone jack.
Screen: screen is a good size 5" very good color and lighting
Camera: front camera takes great pictures in low lighting as for the rear camera pictures not so good in low lighting a bit on the blurry/dark side but still takes good pictures especially outdoors (Does not have flash which would be good to have )
Apps: all apps cost $ which is a bummer haven't found any free apps as of yet. Apps range from $3.50-$25.00
Volume level is really good also.
Also Does not come with any cartridge

Bottom line this is a great tablet and I definitely recommend this for any child!!!!

Great learning tablet

I had the LeapPad2 but my son has scratched up the screen so badly, and the battery pack seems to have inconsistent charge. So I decided to upgrade to LeapPad 3 for his birthday. The functions are better than previous version, easy to use, feels sturdier, and rechargeable helps. Being Wi-Fi also is a plus. But I do wish that I don't have to re-buy all the games I already installed in the previous LeapPad to install on the new one. I think we should only pay ONCE per game and be able to download/transfer onto new devices.

Great Product for the Price, Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to tear this device from my eight year old son's fingers to review it. He uses the Wi-Fi to surf the web. He watches nature videos. LeapFrog already has safety controls installed that only allows kid-friendly content to be viewed when kids surf the web. The web content is limited though on this device, but my son is entertained nonetheless. I was initially concerned about the activities on this tablet (prior to downloading games or using cartridges). My son is eight and uses my ipad mini.

No concern necessary. The learning games and activities on this device are entertaining and educational. We both learned science facts from this. I may download games from the app center instead of buying cartridges since it may be more cost effective that way. Four apps come as a bonus with this device. Cartridges from the LeapPad2 works on the LeapPad3.

I like the math activities the best, but all the educational games and activities make learning fun. My son is an avid video game player so this works although he does think it's kind of kiddie. Games and activities are age appropriate so parents can tailor the activities to their children's ages and educational levels.

Easy set up. My son's Grandma set this up on her computer, and she's no techie. She followed the set up instructions as I would have done and got it going.

This device makes learning an adventure. A fun way to "pump up the brain" as my son would say. I live in New York and my mom lives in New Jersey so this is a great distraction for my son during the long drive for visits. He enjoys relating animal facts that he has learned from his new tablet. He thinks he's playing. I know he's learning.

LeapPad3 Learning Tablet

I got this for my 2 year old granddaughter for Christmas. Suggested age is 3 and up. She plays with my phone and her mom's phone so I thought this would be okay. She dove right into it but it doesn't perform in the same way as the phones do. She still turns it on and does what she can and the she turns it off. Everyday she picks it up, turns it on and finds new things. I think she will continue to learn from it as she grows. I would suggest waiting until 3.

Leaped too soon

This was purchased for a 3 year old boy, so you can imagine his excitement when he opened it up.  Only to find out that the product does not work!! Contacted LeapFrog customer service and they were rude and unwilling to help try to resolve this problem.

Brand New in Box and doesn't work

This is the third Leappad I have owned in the last 16 months and it is the worst of the three. It lasted THREE DAYS!!! I can still return this one but SERIOUSLY?!?!?! THREE DAYS?!?!?! It is easier to use than the 2 because of the wifi and when you log in to your "Connect" account it automatically downloads any apps you've purchased. However, I can't get it to turn on so that I can clear any of my info from it before I return it! Thank goodness I bought the product care plan for all of them or I would have been out a lot of money. The manufacturer's warranty is voided upon the first drop. The first two fell off the sofa a few times but nothing crazy and the third one hasn't been dropped at all. Ridiculous! If it weren't for all the money I've already put into games and apps I would just switch to another game system or tablet.

Trust me.....buy the product care plan
