[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased Botley for an Easter gift. It is one of my favorite products of Learning Resources.

My son immediately started playing with Botley and it held his attention for hours. We struggle with finding toys that held my son's attention. He spent a while trying to figure out how to get around objects. He built LEGO obstacles for Botley and then he tried to figure out how many times he had to move to get to and around an object. It is a little complicated for young kids, but if you are looking for something to mentally stimulate and challenge your child then this is a perfect toy for them.

My children are in love with Botley! We homeschool and this has become a part of our interactive learning! They love when they have the chance to build mazes for Botley and then try to figure out how to get him through the mazes. Love watching their little brains work to figure out how to code Botley correctly. Such a fun toy!

WE LOVE BOTLEY!

My children, even my 11 year old were excited when I got Botley.

He comes with a screen-free controller (which I love)
and 77 pieces (40 coding cards, 6 double sized tiles and 27 obstacle building pieces.) to have hours of fun with. 

Coding with Botley is easy and even comes with a starter guide that has different coding challenges . The first few are to get you familiar with coding and the rest are to test your coding skills. 
There is even some "Easter Eggs" for you to perform . 
Botley also make cute sounds and says hi. The coding cards and double sided tiles are well made and very sturdy. The plastic pieces are also well made.

Unlike a typical remote control toy (where each command is sent directly to the toy), Botley teaches kids actual coding by having them input a series of commands on the controller then send them to Botley at once to be performed. Botley also introduces the concept of the LOOP command, allowing the same series of code to be executed several times without having to recode. Because of this, Botley is an excellent STEM teaching/learning tool.

Botley is educational and fun at the same time, and i love how my children would rather learn wth him than play on their tablets or play video games. All of my children, ages 3-11 love Botley.
The only negative thing I have to say is that they don't like sharing him. 
Also please be advised that even though the box says "Ready to go,right out of the box!" you still need 5AAA batteries.

Botley is super cute. All my kids are having a lot of fun with him...ages 5-11. I was worried the 5 year old wouldn't catch on to how to program him, but he caught on quick. My 7 year old daughter treats him like a pet. The noise feature can turn off while playing, so that's a major plus. I did receive this for free to review the product...so, to be honest, as much as we love him. I would never pay more than $50 for this toy.

Botley, our new pet robot

My children had fun playing with Botley.  I think the age range should be higher and the instructions should be more explanatory,  My children are 6 and 9 years old.  I feel like they could only do the basics.  It was left for me to read the instructions and try to figure things out. It gave simple instructions and let me wonder how to do certain things.  Besides for that my children had fun learning to code with Botley.  It was easy for them to use the remote and make it move around our house.  Once they use it more I'm sure they will see all the other things Botley can do.

I'm glad I received this from chatterbox for free and did not have to pay because it definitely is not worth the price. I really didn't understand the concept being an adult, how would they think a six year old would. He lost interetest in seconds and has not returned to play with it since.
