Only bold statements here. I am going to take the position that this is the best build for R2. SNOT technique makes the studded dome have a nice curve, because all the extra pieces are manually attached, they can have more proportional length compared to the “adult” larger versions. Great build experience. Because of the size, it is a much more sturdy build. I'm jealous!

My first Star Wars Lego, and it was the best choice, it was not difficult to build, even having a lot of pieces and details, it look beautiful at the end, I can't wait to buy more

Fun and nostalgic

What a fun and beautiful model! It was straightforward to build and it feels sturdy. I like that you can add (and keep them there) or remove the various tools and sensors. It would be cool if they could be tucked away internally like with the pricier model, but at this price point the play model is honestly spot on! Like I found with Chopper, both of these paired with BD-1 on a shelf make for a great decoration, but the size difference between R2/Chopper and BD-1 is noticeable enough. Still, bar the ratio gap, this build is very engaging and is among my favourites so far.

My sons 27. his wife has cancer and he is a big lego fan. his birthday is july 28 i wanted to give him something to do and get his mind off whats going on right now.

I recently built the LEGO R2-D2 set, and it was a fantastic experience! The attention to detail is remarkable, capturing the essence of R2-D2 perfectly. The build is engaging, featuring fun elements like the rotating head and attachable third leg that enhance both playability and display appeal.

The size is just right—it fits nicely on a shelf while still making a statement. Overall, I highly recommend the LEGO R2-D2 set to any Star Wars or LEGO fan. It's a delightful blend of creativity and nostalgia!

I bought this for my Son for Christmas. I had to save to buy this for him. I know he will appreciate and love it.

Christmas gift

This was an amazingly fun build, and now it is one of the centerpieces of my collection. I paired it with C3 PO and the two of them together have tons of personality and look great.

The droid I didn't know I was looking for.

Awesome Star Wars build. Everything went very smoothly. Really liked how the components went together and moved in a smooth way.

R2-D2

The legs and feet assembly is structurally under engineered for the loads and tolerances involved, with too few positive locking elements and an over reliance on friction and extremely tight tolerances. During assembly this causes instability, difficult alignment, and repeated re-seating of parts, and any required backtracking significantly degrades clutch performance and the overall build experience. This is a sequencing and structural design issue rather than builder error, and additional internal reinforcement or positive locking geometry would have improved assembly stability without affecting the exterior design. The finished model is stable, but the leg and foot construction does not meet expectations for a premium display set.

Assembly stability

Very enjoyable build. Having the pieces spread out across 12 bags was ideal for a multi day build with my son. He doesn't like to build for more than 30-45 minute sessions and this set was easy to keep organized and the instructions were split into sub assemblies that made it feel easy to tackle.

Fun build

My Friday evening was ruined by this horrible experience with this set. First of all, when I've opened the box 3 parts from the bag #1 were outside of the bag which was weird. At the step 21 I've realized that one of the 4603472 is missing. I've tried to fill a request for a missing part and failed with an error "Something less than awesome just happened. Please try again later". I've tried later from my work laptop and got the same error. I've tried to use a different approach via other part of the website and found another UI which finally allowed me to submit my request for a missing part (with 10-14 business days ETA!). After that I've decided to try to continue my build and 6 steps later, I've discovered that another part is missing (6439175) and I went back to the website to submit another request. And you know what? Those parts are currently out of stock! 
I've spent thousands of dollars on Lego so far, this was my way to unwind after work and relax, but after today I'm not sure if I should continue because of the stress I had. Guys, I understand that you receive tons of orders at May4, but please, work on your quality assurance for both the bricks and the website!
