As soon as I saw this in Lego I had to buy it.
It is a great build, but as others have said, it is very fragile. Every time I picked it up or turned it around my heart was in my mouth, and some pieces don't seem to be held in place very well, saying that, I'd do it all again, I enjoyed mostly every minute !

Saw it and had to buy !

To start out I have always wanted an AT-AT that was to scale and larger than the AT-AT that LEGO has made previously. The price was a bit daunting to me at first, so I looked over the reviews that people provided about the product. I finally made my decision to purchase this product and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together. While the AT-AT seems like it is not sturdy when it is finished it is in fact quite sturdy. When I read the other reviews several of them complained about pieces falling off easily. I have had no such problem. The one thing I will say that is a small downside is that it is not the easiest to pick up and move. Keep up the great work LEGO.

An Excellent Build

I have been waiting for this model for so long.  It is a challenging build, but so much fun.  The legs do get repetitive.  It is HUGE and is a nice addition to my collection. This makes the 10th UC that I have put together, and it was the second more enjoyable one, outside of the Super Star Destroyer (10221)

Bow to the King

This set was bought and gifted to a friend for his birthday. He enjoyed it so much he had finished building it in one weekend! He even added lights into the set. He said it was extremely exhilarating and fun to build and was excited for all the minifigures that came with it. Would highly recommend to add to collection if you're a Star Wars fan

I was asked by my husband what I wanted for Christmas, and he fully expected the answer to be handbags or jewellery. Nope, this was the top of my wishlist!! I already have the UCS Falcon, and don't have room for the Star Destroyer until my daughter goes to Uni and I can have her room! This arrived and I was informed that it was mine to open and build. I found I was missing a part in the very first bag, but I managed to steal one from my first, much smaller AT-AT. Lego have since sent me the missing part which has been put back where it belongs! Thoroughly enjoyed building this set, pity I don't really have room for any more just now. For those moaning about the monotony of leg building, I am not sure what you were expecting.  4 different legs maybe? Highly recommend this set for any avid Lego Star Wars fans!

At last!

Lego have once again outdone themselves with the amount of detail and creative ideas at work. This thing is an engineering masterpiece with all the clever ways they make things like the head and legs articulate at such a large scale without falling apart.
The build itself took me just over 12 hours, and it kept me entertained by always throwing in cool little design features/engineering tricks. Surprisingly, it never really got repetitive; even though you have to build four, virtually identical legs, they were technical enough and interesting enough to avoid the trap of boring repetition. 
Overall, if you have the money to drop on this build, I highly recommend it - fun, technical build and a cool showpiece!

Clever and Unique Build!

I've dreamt of this set for 17 years of my 24 years of life. Playing the og Lego star wars 2 on gcn back in the day, I imagined building my own atat with full interior. I researched for hours, modeled it in stud.io, and analyzed the cross sections books.

Lego has satisfied all of my childhood fantasies with this set. You can load your troops with seats for all and ladders and equipment storage combined with open staging areas. This set literally looks like the designers took the cross section book and made it a set.

I haven't even mentioned that you get 3 free sets if you get it at holiday time (in usa at least, I heard the Aussies get that too) 

I would have passed out if they had a passage through the neck and had cables to deploy the troops.

UCS ATAT

This set is amazing and a great challenging build which took about 16 hours .
I have been waiting for a UCS AT-AT for years and it dose not disappoint! It's up there with the best UCS sets like the Falcon , Vader's shuttle ,Slave 1 and the Y-Wing .
It looks stunning it's a beautiful set and £699 is a bit expensive but when you see it finished you won't be disappointed it's huge lol. 
All you Lego Star Wars collectors get saving your money and get one .

The set I have been waiting for.

The order of the build for the interior of this set is pointlessly complicated. You have to completely build the upper and lower sections before lining up every stud and mating the two sections together. What's worse is that the sections are not structurally sound when this takes place causing pieces to fall off in the process. Building up from the lower section would have made for a far more stable building experience as Lego sets in the past used to be. I'm referring to step 519 in book 3.

Build Method is Pointless

This was a fun build until it came to the point of lifting it up. The underside is poorly designed as the portion going in the direction of the head that heals on by for one peg and hook pieces won't stay on. I decided to not put it on as it keeps aggravating me . It should just be flat that area rather than angles to avoid this as the other end stays on pretty well. Overall the design is amazing but the under side I'd give it 4/10.

Underside needs redesigned

I don't know exactly what you could call my build set. But I have been building legos most of my life and as an adult I have enjoyed being able to buy myself large sets. This is the only lego I have not had fun building. It is super fragile! Like do not breath wrong around it. It is extremely hard to put parts back on without knocking others off. If you enjoy complex builds maybe you will enjoy it. However, I found a lot of things to not be functional and just kind of meh? It is cool! But I would not recommend this lego unless you like conquering hard builds.

Only lego I didn't have fun with
