(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I like this little clock. It's gets very fun dim at night, and the alarms can be set and stopped with your voice.  Best thing is the Google photos clock face which cycles through my featured photos. It's a great little clock and speaker with the Google assistant built in. Great to get the weather or commute times in a pinch.  In terms of sound quality, it's ok not great, but perfect for the assistant feature.

This smart clock with google assist is all that it says it is. I have a nest hub, a google home and three google mini skeakers, if you like google assist, this smart clock is everything google has to offer. Oh and yes you can stream music with it. I have it added to my group for music. I use it in the bedroom to control the tv and media on a chromecast.

Everything Google works great

I purchased a computer and the clock came for 1 penny as a bonus. I was surprised that the clock is a google home clock. I can say, "Hey Google, wake me up at 11:00" -> and it alarms at 11:00. I enjoy saying "Hey Google, play the news --> and it cycles through a variety of news items. This device seems to do everything google home does, and it seems to have automatically linked to my existing google home.

I'm surprised by how much I enjoy the clock

A month ago i bought 4 of these smart clocks, one for each of my groomsmen and one for my fiancee, two of my groomsmen never used a google smart assistant before and they love all the capabilities this smart clock has, my fiancee and last groomsmen use google home assistants on a daily basis, they were all very impressed with the smart clocks. So far their favorite feature is the sunrise setting for the alarms, its more accurately listens they our google mini, nest mini, google home hub or max hub, very impressed i can whisper and it can still hear me most days!!!! This is an amazing feature in a bedroom oriented device! The speaker also gets ridiculously loud if you leave the room and want to still hear your music, while it doesnt have the most bass the music is clear and sounds really good, i also like how the pull down menu lets me control the smart lights in my bedroom in a quick access way! The only thing i would change about it is i would like it to have youtube on board, they could set it up to have a auto shutdown feature to keep it bedroom oriented, just personally i like falling asleep to youtube. Luckily because of the usb a port on the back i was able set up a wireless charging stand right next to it and can watch my videos this way! Also all of the people i gave the clocks to are iphone users and have iphones, so hopeully apple music comes on board eventually, nothing Lenovo can do about this, more of a google issue!

Amazing product, everyone can find a use for it!

Sometimes it plays music, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the music ends after a few minutes, sometimes it plays until I stop it.
It can never play music as part of my "Good Morning" routine. have no idea why it's temperamental with the music feature.
Outside of that, I really like it and it works well.

It works

The clock adjusts brightness based on light in the room so it is not too bright at night but time can still be read.  It would be nice to have more options for alarm tone.  I like being able to set the alarm with my voice using google assistant, and being able to use the google assistant from bed is nice too as thoughts come into my mind as I head to sleep.

I like the unit overall. The features for the light up alarm is nice. Major downside..... my clock lost connection to wifi and therefore could not function to wake us up using the alarm. This thing is totally useless when the wifi connection is lost. It only happened once in the last two months but my wife and I were both late for work due to the internet cutting out. I really wish they could update it so that the alarms would still work even if it temporarily loses internet connection.

Good unit with a MAJOR flaw

Nice small footprint and cloth cover. Easy set-up under 10 min. It does not have a ton of features which is perfect for a bedside alarm clock. The clock regularly creates a random MAC address which creates a security issue for those who want to maintain access control on their router. Price was OK at $60. Undecided if I would buy it again.

I bought this as a replacement for my bedside Google Home Mini as I wanted the clock function.  It does that.  Unfortunately, the sound output is not nearly as good as the Mini, so that's a disappointment.  My other issues are related to Google Assistant and how it seems to be different on the Smart Clock -- and yes, I know that sounds ridiculous.  If I say to my Google Home display "Set an alarm for 11AM and call it test", it will create an alarm named "test" for 11AM.  If I give the same command to Smart Clock, it creates an alarm called "it test".  Strange right?  The problem is replicable.  Also, routines sometimes do not complete.  I have a morning routine that ends with a command to play a radio station for 90 minutes.  Sometimes it does, sometimes not.  Other Google Home devices complete the routine consistently.

Lenovo Smart Clock

The device is still in its early life and it's kind of obvious. There is definitely room for improvement in various places. My biggest problem with this device comes from using the automatic morning routine (when turning the alarm off, you can have it kick off the morning routine automatically without the "Ok Google" command.)
For some reason, it is unable to turn a light on during this automatic routine. If, however, I manually trigger the routine using voice commands, it works absolutely fine. This is by far my biggest pet peeve with this clock.
There are also days when the clock struggles more than other. For example, again in the automatic routine, it skipped the weather forecast two day in a row last weekend, but the third day everything started working as normal, for some reason.
There was also one time when I was forced to restart the device by unplugging/replugging it because the routines stopped working.
I absolutely can't set up music for the alarm (it keeps bugging a lot, either by taking a long time to start the music or by being suddenly unable to play.) I had to play it safe in the end (with a lot of disappointment) and use their built-in sounds (which I don't like, but oh well...)
BUT, Lenovo is actively working on improving the device. They recently added the follow-up function in voice commands that had so far been absent (and which I use a lot). So yeah, it's getting there. I just wish I hadn't paid so much to be a beta tester...

Room for improvement, but great device.

This is a nice looking alarm clock. It shows the time and near the top of the screen shows an abbreviated day of the week.

It does not show the weather, despite me setting the address it requested. I have seen online there are many people reporting 'weather display' issues.

It responds to my instructions or requests to the Google Assistant so it can tell me the weather if I ask and displays temperature and conditions on the screen while it is doing it.

For my use (and its price) it is fine. The display is dimmed significantly when it is dark in the room and brightens when the room is well lit. 

I prefer 24hr time format and it displays that properly (00-23). With the leading zero one knows a clock is in 24 hr format!

What is a little odd is that there does not seem to be a way to set an alarm time in the google Home app on my phone, nor does the Assistant seem to know how to do it. It looks to me as though someone had the idea for a Google Mini like device with a display and called it a Smart Alarm Clock, but the capabilities of such a device are not really supported by the Assistant unless it is running on the alarm clock itself. So I can only set an alarm by voice if I am next to the Smart and speak instructions. Not a good plan if someone is asleep in the room! You can set an alarm manually by the buttons,  but that is the way to do it on a normal, stupid alarm clock.
