It works perfectly with my X1 Carbon.Gen 7. There are less expensive adapters on the market, but I trust Lenovo.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product description was spot on.  The adapter plugged right in with no complications.  Before I knew it, I was running at much higher speeds with a direct LAN connection.  This product was fantastic!

Amazing product!!

The thing is that the sides of the input cable that plugs into the X13 port covers up 1/2 of the usb-c port As I discovered when I purchased a webcam with a USB-C connection. My conclusion? The ports are too close to each other on the lenovo x-13.

The only issue is that the USB Type C outlet cannot be used as the ethernet connector restricts the access to the Type C outlet. Since there is no gain or loss in using the USB Type B adaptor and since there is another Type B outlet available on the right side, I would recommend using the Type B instead of this adaptor. I didn't realize this before otherwise I would not have bought it.

Using this means you lose access to USB Type C

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It blocks the USB-C port which I need to extend my monitors. The other USB-C port (for the power) doesn't work the same for some reason - it doesn't support my two monitor config like the one that this dongle blocks. So…useless for me.

It Blocks the USB-C Port

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The adapter blocks the usage of the thunderbolt port simultaneously with the adapter. It is just bad engineering, Nothing to do with connectivity. Some people have used sandpaper to get the profile of the adaptor down to fit another slimed down USB-c/thunderbolt cable, but this shouldn't have to be the case.

This adapter blocks the USB-C port beside it when plugged in. So, you may as well just use a USB-C to Ethernet adapter instead. It's just how Lenovo designed their docking port, by placing their proprietary Ethernet port and a USB-C port really close. So, the Ethernet port is only useful if you use a docking system. There is no reason for this adapter to exist.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I lost my ethernet adapter and ordered a genuine replacement from Lenovo, for reliability. It arrived safely, is the correct item (4X90Q84427), but won't plug into my ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Generation, model 20QV-0007US!  Its plug is too large for the ethernet socket, and indeed will not fit in any of the sockets.

Customer Service insisted this is the correct item for my specific laptop (by serial number) - until I sent them a close-up photo.  There is an error somewhere!  (sigh)

This item doesn't fit!

On my Thinkpad T90s, spacing on left hand side connectors are not adequate.  If you use this device you loose one of your spare connections.  This is identified in the manual "Note: The Ethernet extension connector Gen 2 and the adjoining Thunderbolt 3 connector (USB-C) cannot be used simultaneously."  Probably would be resolved if wide of connection for this product was reduced?

Really, spacing flaws when using all connections!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bad design - This adapter partially covers the adjacent USB C port on my Thinkpad X1 yoga Gen 5 laptop rendering the USB C port unusable while using this adapter. It might be more of design flaw with X1 yoga Gen 5 laptop recently purchased vs. the adapter itself. Regardless, it is conflict which reduces functionality of the connection ports on the Thinkpad X1 yoga Gen 5 laptop.
