Yes it cost a little more . . . however it is wood not MDF, it arrives fully assembled all you need to do is decide where you want the WOOD shelves, put your DVD on the shelves ( holds  272 DVDs with room to easily remove the DVD)  close the doors and you are done.  The Oak WOOD is beautiful showing the grain of the wood which is matched to each door and side. It is put together with screws not wood pegs. It is a piece of furniture not MDF shelving. Nothing cheap about this product should last a long time without sagging shelves like MDF does.

Great buy

I am a good judge of quality furniture. When I decided to purchase a storage cabinet for my DVD and CD collection, I couldn't find anything of quality locally. So, I went online and decided to take a gamble on this cabinet knowing I could return it to my local Walmart if I wasn't acceptable. When it arrived, I was VERY impressed! This is a SOLID oak cabinet (no particle board, no veneer) built to last with dovetail joints! It's a keeper.

An Excellent Piece of Cabinetry!!!!

It's more than what l was expecting. The fact that it comes fully assembled is a plus, since that l am not handy.l had no problem adjusting the shelves.The wood material and the black finish are just "Wow"

Great product for the price

This is absolutely one of the best investments I've ever made! I now have 2 of these Media Cabinets because I have a large collection of Classic DVDs and because of the way it's put together, I can arrange "actors/actresses or Comedy/Westerns, etc." together. It's packaged so great - double boxes/packing material & no damage plus it's easy to assemble the shelves - just the way you want them. The quality and beauty of the cabinet itself is stunning and adds "class" to my living room - my friends cannot believe I purchased this "online" from Walmart or that Cymax has such great looking furniture - LOL! My only wish is that the one unit itself was taller/larger!

The cabinet is good quality for the price. Fully assembled except for shelves. The predrilled holes for the shelves do not allow for full optimization of the storage space. Lost space when setting shelves up for Disney dvds. Added holes would have been great.

Need more shelf holes

Like the idea of this unit, but mine have quite a few knicks and a couple of dents in the wood in the base of the cabinet. Also, once you attached the legs, don't try to move it.  If you like solid sturdy wood furniture, this may not be the piece for you. It serves the purpose, but I wouldn't buy it again.

This media cabinet was a poor choice.  The spray-on finish was uneven and blotchy, especially on the front of the cabinet.  It looked as though the air compressor used to drive the spray gun did not filter condensed water properly, and the finish was "fish-eyed" as a result.  More importantly, the entire cabinet body arrived "racked".  It was not put together square.  As a result, it will not sit flat on the floor.  This is not a minor issue of shimming:  it is substantially off by a half inch or more.  

I am trying to return this.  However, Walmart does not back this purchase.  It comes through a third party, Cymax, which has its own, glacially slow returns process.  It is a week later, and now they've "sent pictures to the manufacturer" (in China!) for review.  

I would advise NOT buying this cabinet.  I would also further caution that buying through Cymax means that you cannot return the item to Walmart if it proves to be unsatisfactory.  This item is, in fact, thoroughly unsatisfactory, and I suspect I will not be able to get my item returned for a refund.

A poor choice

Damaged beyond my ability to repair.  Had to repackage it in order to send it back.  They should give me a gift card for that effort, because it wasn't easy or quick!

Damaged goods/poor quality control

The cabinet arrived earlier than expected and sat in my living room until I could get someone to unpack it on Sunday July 31st.

The cabinet was exactly what I wanted except for the fact that there was a gouge on the top of the cabinet.   Damaged goods.

I tried to get Cymax on Monday August 1st but their Customer Service was closed.  I will try again this afternoon.
